Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Toilet We bought two of these toilets for our washrooms on sale a year ago and have not had any problem with them. They have never clogged and my water bills have gone down. Well worth the money!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for family use toilet need to be flushed many times if training children the handle and cable assembly needs to be replaced at least oncea year. The solder in the handle is the incorrect material. I have three in my house. and have serviced them all.if you are a bachelor it may work fine for ever. The parts need to be carried by home depot to ease repair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK value I had 4 of these installed in 2 houses just over 3 years ago, so have lots of experience with these. I too find the handle design counter-intuitive. I find it more natural to pull the handle, so would more often trigger the full 6 L flush instead of the 4.1 L flush by pushing. I found I can easily modify the way the handle is installed by re-setting the position of the handle one quarter turn so the handle points towards me. This then makes it easy to push down on the handle, which feels very natural, always triggering the low 4.1 L flush. The caveat is that this prevents the ability to trigger the 6 L full flush, i.e., the handle will only turn one way. BUT all is not lost as I found that you can get the full 6L flush simply by holding down the handle a couple of seconds longer (I checked by lifting the lid that it works). As far as flow is concerned, I found that this toilet blocks occasionally, either if the load is too "stiff" or if too much toilet paper is used (I have 2 young kids) and no, it is not toys or something else. So a plunger needs to be kept handy. Also, for some reason, the handle on one toilet located in a tenant unit keeps breaking (2nd time in one year). Not sure what they are doing, since they are only adults, and my other 3 toilets have been fine after 3 years, even with kids. Replacement of the handle is a nuisance. Home depot does not carry replacement parts for it; it is a non standard part, so there are no 3rd party replacements for it), and since this toilet is a Home Depot exclusive, no other shops carry the parts. So, the only place is to order them from Foremost directly, in Mississauga, ON. If you cannot pick up directly, you have to wait for mailing time. Overall, they are still decent toilets (I was able to also get the rebate from the city of Toronto at the time, so an excellent bargain).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Regarding TL-2005-WL-GB I just bought one at a Home Depot store, is the wax ring just a rubber like ring without wax? Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flush handle is NOT backwards! This bowl flushes coilers that I used to have to chop up with a hockey stick like a champ. It is a bit on the low side but I like it because I can read a book without my legs falling asleep. All of these people that are having issues with not flushing you should stop eating balloons and maybe get your plumbing checked. The flush diagram is not backwards, it indicates which way the top of the handle should move. The arrow with the half circle points towards the wall and wraps around to the back of the handle. To make the arrow move that way you would naturally pull towards you. Labeling it Pull for #1 might give some gentlemen the wrong idea.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value! We have 2 of these toilets in our home. The 1st one we bought a year ago (on sale for $99). Since we were not sure how well it would work, we installed it in our basement. This toilet worked so well, we were using it as our main toilet, not once having to re-flush. There is one important flaw, however, and this is the only reason I gave it a 4 star rating instead of a 5. The markings on the flush lever are reversed - the full flush (6L, flush directed away from you) is actually the 4.1 L flush and the 1/2 flush marking (the flush directed towards you) is actually the 6L flush. This is not a big deal for us, but could be for some. We liked this toilet so much, we decided we'd buy another one for our main bathroom (once on sale). Much to our surprise, this toilet came on sale for $79....what a deal! However, the litre flush is reversed on this one also, which leaves me to wonder if the flush is reversed on all of these models? Overall, this toilet was very easy to install, works great and a great value. I would definitely recommend it, especially if on sale.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless Even at full flush (6L) it requires at least 2 and sometimes as many as 4 flushes to clear the bowl. At 1/2 flush (4.1L) it may not totally empty bowl with one flush. The cover for the tank does not fit properly and always slides back. The cover is convex and smooth thus eliminating a valuable storage area in a small bathroom. The toilet seat is too small to completely cover the bowl. The flush lever is on the side that the dresser usually occupies so space must be allowed to reach the lever. This restricts the length of the dresser. If the handle were on the other side where there is usually plenty of space the dresser could be a few inches longer. The footprint of the toilet is small and may not cover that of the toilet being replaced thus necessitating re-tiling or refinishing the floor. All things considered this toilet should never have been put on the market. It is worse than useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great family toilet - especially for toddlers! Two really great features: 1. dual fush handle is on the side making it easier for kids to reach and flush (buttons are sometimes too hard to push and requires climbing / adults); 2. Top is flat and has no buttons - leaving it open for objects (i.e. spare toilet paper, air fresheners, Thomas & Friends books). But two gripes though. The closet bolts are too long requiring tools to cut it, so re-use your old closet bolts if they are shorter (dry-fit the toilet first to ensure everything fits before putting on the wax seal). Also, the toilet feels about 1-2cm shorter than standard toilets - not major, but may be an issue for taller people. Overall excellent product that is functional, affordable, and efficient.

    Flush adjustment

I just installed one of hese toilets. As noted in one of the reviews there is no difference between the half and full flush. Water level in the tank drops the same amount either way. The included instructions do not give information on flush adjustments but I have an older Pegasus toilet from Home Depot that has a similar flush mechanism. The half and full flush adjustment on the older toilet work perfectly but the half flush adjuster on the new toilet doesn't seem to do anything. It seems the handle on the new toilet has the same range of motion towards the back or front whereas on the older one the handle doesn't swing as far for a half flush. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have 2 of these toilets, I've watched the flush level repeatedly and at least for both of mine, the flush lever markings are reversed (the level drops about 2 inches more for the 4L flush then the 6L).

Distance between wall & rough in

What is the required distance for the TL-2005-Wl-GB toilet between the rough in and a wall? I am hoping to build a new stud wall between the rough in and the concrete basement wall but this would only leave me with 11.5 inches.
    Asked by: Anonymous
its a standard 12" rough in. As the lid does not overhang front or back it will probably fit... however you know what happens when you assume too much... so best to test fit it before you get it all goopy with wax. I have toilets with only 11.5 " of clearance from the drywall... or 12 " from the studs and the 12" rough in models fit ok.
