Rated 3 out of 5 by from 30” vanity with sink Whitton model Recently purchased this vanity for a bathroom renovation. With space constraints, options were limited. We preferred from Home Depot online with free delivery to home without issue. Took about 3 days to arrive. None in stock locally but was able to ‘show and tell’ with the floor model on display. It isn’t wood, of course, but a high density fibre board. Hard to drill through FYI but sturdy just the same. The drawers/door are not soft close, which would be a nice touch. We added rubber ‘bumpers’ to the door to keep the close from being so hard/loud. Install was straight forward. Sink attached easily with some purchased silicone. It has a three hole tap opening and overflow drain which many do not.

This small leak was absorbed by the cheap vanity for what i can only assume was days causing it to swell and warp. So my advice is check it often just in case as this vanity is like a towel and will absorb water.

Are the holes pre-drilled for the taps and how many? I need to know if I can use center-set or single handle type taps.

What are the measurements of the drawers and drawer placement so we can see where or if our plumbing will fit this style.

The vanity top is 30" wide and the cabinet itself is about 1.5" smaller. Mine is installed against the bathroom wall on the left. The cabinet that is covered by the large door on the left is about 17" wide and 25.5" tall; my plumbing just fit on the far right side of that part of the vanity. There is an adjustable shelf that fit under my plumbing. The drawers to the right have an 11" wide door and 9" drawer.

Is there space behind the drawers and divider for the plumbing? My pipes will just about hit the center of the cabinet where the divider is, unless there is a bit if space there.

No the divider and the drawers are full depth. The unit worked in our situation as it was a new build (i.e., we placed all the plumbing to the left of the drawers.

I will be installing this against a wall on the right side - is there a fascia strip to fill the gap under the counter lip? I'm assuming approx. 1"

The right hand wall projects about 1/4 to 3/8 inches beyond the porcelain top. You would need to caulk this space to seal it to the wall.

I bought this vanity on sale without the sink for my cabin. Instead of the ceramic top, I want to install a butcherblock countertop. Would that be a problem to install on this vanity?

It should install easily.  The open top of the vanity is a flat surface that would in my opinion accommodate any kind of countertop, sink and faucet openings. You'll of course need offset openings to take into account the drawers on the right side of the vanity. The only other comment I would make is to consider the durability of the woodblock when exposed to what may be high humidity, condensed water droplets on the surface, water splashes etc, and even exposure to continuous water. For example let's say you have a cup sitting on the countertop with a ring of water underneath it. Given these kinds of water exposure, which would be fairly typical, before installing the sink and faucets you want to seal the butcher block with a very tough, human-safe coating material that will last. For that I would recommend the Giani Granite Epoxy Resin Topcoat Kit. (https://gianigranite.com/collections/giani-countertop-paint/products/epoxy-resin-topcoat-for-giani-marble) I don't work for them or have any connection. :-) This is the only food grade epoxy I am aware of, and it is VERY durable.  It is as tough as engineered quartz. Great application process (follow it closely), and smooth and clear as glass when done. Ages well too, with the smallest of patina on it from use. We have it on our kitchen counters and it is amazing. I think butcher block in the bathroom would need a coat of this. And you want food-grade simply because of multiple daily exposures to the epoxy. Have fun!
