Didn't realize that you're not supposed to use them with a normal switch; they're meant to be powered all the time and turned on/off with a smart switch or phone. Don't like that. Also, they lose connection all the time, which means the don't stay the right color and don't turn on/off when they're supposed to. Waste of money. Nice idea but really, really garbage execution.

Switched the tails and the same light worked on the other box. The one that didn’t worked on neither. It sees two devices though. When I tap on one it says turn on. It never does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multicolored wonder Great addition to bathroom above bath. Must be programmed with wifi (color, intensity), but then can be operated with switch like ordinary light. Color can be unchanging or changing. Was able to get it connected with wifi without too much difficulty.

Can these be set on a Dimmer?

You can dim/adjust brightness  through the app on a phone but you can’t connect to traditional dimmer

Am I able to switch the light on and off with the light switch or must I always use the App? One of the reviews suggests that we can't use the switch to turn on/off.

Hi there, thank you for your inquiry. It is always recommended to use the app to control the lights. Using the switch too often may cause your lights to go back into pairing mode. Additionally, if you turn the switch off, they will no longer be able to be controlled with the Globe Suite app until the switch gets turned back on. Turning off the switch cuts the connection to your wifi network causing the lights to go offline.

Is a Lutron Skylark Contour LED+ Dimmer Switch fully compatible with a Globe Electric Smart 4 in. Slim LED Recessed Lighting? If not, what other brand is compatible with this recessed lighting?

I have no idea as I am a purchaser of the lights, but I can safely say these lights are the worst purchase I have made and all 7 need to be replaced.  They constantly loose their connection to wifi and blink like strobe lights until reconnected.

This light is everything I'm looking for, but we have black soffits, need this in a black trim version, or the ablity to swap to a black trim. Globe makes a 4" black trim version but it's not RGB. Seems easy enought to either offer a trim change option?

Does it work with Lutron Caseta smart switch? Should it be hardwired to it?

A Lutron Caseta switch isn’t really needed for these lights.  The Globe Suite App, which controls these lights, does everything that switch does and more.

The Globe Electric installation PDF (from your website) says these can be wired to a switch or dimmer. If wired this way do they remember settings when power is turned off? Or do they return to a default state when power is restored?

Hi Derek, these cannot be used on a dimmer they need to be installed on a regular switch, yes they should come back on to their last known state when turned back on.
