Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic Controls temperature does all the things a modern digital thermostat does but able to program it via your phone or tablet instead of on the device it self, would appreciate more data though like tracking the temperature in the house via outside temp and graph it with how long my heat\cool was on for, especially in the summer time a feels like temperature would be appreciated for in house. 3 stars because I feel like I could get the same results from a traditional digital programmable thermostat for alot cheaper, if I were to be given more data on my useage which would help me be more energy efficient I would rate higher atm the "smart" feels like a gimmick

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Somewhat disappointed It seems a bit glitchy and not as straightforward as I was expecting. I have the mini as well, so thought it would be as easy/plug and play as that. I was looking forward to using it as a photo display. I'm not interested in hooking my lights, appliances, etc up to it. I don't need it to tell me if I'm sleeping or not. I really would like to play music and videos from my Google premium acct, which, again, isn't all that straightforward. The app is super basic so that's a bit disappointing too. I'm off to watch more YouTube videos from my phone to see how to get the best out of this best hub. I'll have to put more time and effort into it for the results I wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing features The hub does most of what the hub max does except that this one does not seem to have a camera….I find that point pretty disappointing since I was hoping to be able to monitor different rooms with that smaller unit.Another thing I find fairly disappointing is the Nest Aware subscription required to enjoy the full features of the system… it’s expensive and really and truly seems to be a great service BUT sort of a bummer since I bought all Nest devices…and free subscription or anything to try out all features for a year let’s say….And I have two hubs, one co and smoke detector, and the front entrance bell.

Given the potential I thought there would be many more options to set custom widgets on the homescreen, mute the nest cameras (unless I'm missing something). The screen it's self is struggling to render frames when switching between pages, not nearly as snappy or smooth as Andriod OS on the Pixel, which is understandable but really surprised Google shipped it in it's state.Still semi convenient as the visual feedback to questions/searches are helpful. Once again, lack of personal widgets (like putting Google Keep notes on the main screen), or an interactive weekly planner. While it's nice to have the calendar, it still is behind a screen saver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Less than it seems The display is nice. However the lack of camera limits the ability of the hub to do much more than a google mini. I still haven’t figured out the gesture control it’s supposed to have. The speaker is better but conversely this means you want to turn it down. Since it has no separate mike control the mike sensitivity goes down too. This means google sometimes doesn’t hear commands. Really not worth the money. I’m not ever planning on using it as a sleep monitor so that feature hasn’t been tried. It is decent for displaying recipes and that is literally the only reason we didn’t return it.

Actually made me go out and buy digital picture frames for my family. But maddening that you don't have regular apps. Can't get my regular route YouTube channel. And.. CAN'T PLAY THE MUSIC I WANT TO HEAR FROM MY YOUTUBE MUSIC LIBRARY. THIS IS THE MOST IRRITATING PART OF THIS THING. It also needs better speakers. Also you should make one that mounts flat on the wall. The stupid angle thing is irritating if you don't want it sitting on the counter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caught porch pirate 2 weeks after installation Very good quality and field of view. Love ability to create alert zones and types of detection. Works perfect with indoor hubs and phone app to both Android and Apple. Improvement would be to receive alerts types in specified zones on phone, but still record events for later viewing in other zones and activity type (ie send alert to phone for person detected on steps or driveway areas, but only capture motion detection on sidewalk or street areas for future reviewing if needed). Indoor chime setting was a bit confusing but finally got it working. Already captured car and person involved in porch pirating that will greatly help with catching thief and insurance claim. Almost paid for itself on this one occasion. Plus home insurance premium should decline.

About half my requests to display the feed from a camera ever get done and about a quarter of them go to a blank display on screen or some random screensaver image. Hey Google understands about half the commands and other times it decides to listen to the television and comes up with some weird answers. Surprised that the video feed is much more stable coming from the Nest doorbell than this unit. If you enjoy being frustrated by your electronic devices, go ahead and buy one.
