    Overview

    Model # S3000BWEF Store SKU # 1000840077

Know more, worry less. The new Nest Protect looks for fast burning fires, slow, smouldering fires and invisible carbon monoxide. It speaks up to tell you what the problem is and where it is. It can also give you a friendly Heads-Up before it has to sound the alarm and you can hush it with your phone. In case you're not home, Nest Protect alerts your phone when the alarm goes off or the batteries run low. It also gives you peace of mind by testing itself over 400 times a day and showing you everything's working with a quick green glow when you turn off the lights. And it looks after your family for up to 10 years.

    1. Notifications on your phone. Nest Protect provides battery and sensor status notifications on your phone so you're always informed, and safety history so you can see what happened over the last 10 days.
    1. Split-Spectrum Sensor. Seconds count. The Split-Spectrum Sensor detects both fast and slow burning fires.
    1. Receive clear direction in an emergency. An alarms speaks to you with a human voice and tells you the location and levels of smoke or carbon monoxide when they are present.
    1. Get an early warning signal. If a cooking mishap leads to a small amount of smoke, Nest Protect will let you know without setting off the full alarm, while App Silence lets you quiet down false alarms with your phone instead of your dish towel.
    1. Light your path at night. Pathlight illuminates your way in the dark. Adjust its brightness, leave it on as a nightlight or turn it off from the Nest App.
    1. Stay on top of any situation. Synchronized sensors ensure that when one alarm senses danger, every Nest Protect in the house will make you aware of the situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the manual carefully! Bottom line: Get This! Might seem a little expensive but it does everything except detect smoke underwater. These connect together even when the WiFi fails. If you get more than one, install the first one and the next installs collect from the other previous install making additional setups very easy. If you have rental properties, setup so that you and your tennant receive the alerts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation, Clean Appearance I had no trouble setting up my linked Nest units. Read the brief instructions (yes, men do read directions) and let the device guide you. Simple and done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great smart home upgrade The setup is very easy especially if you have another Nest product - just scan QR code and you’re done. Essential for pet owners who want to monitor alerts when gone and pets are home alone. Only complaint is that it’s not clear when you’re installing the backer plate on ceiling - you must make sure the “G” logo is square on the ceiling and not offset at an angle or unit won’t be straight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be any easier. I am not particularly tech savvy but hold my own. The smoke/co2 detectors could not be any easier to set up and install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product packed with features, easy setup, esthetically pleasing. My only criticism is the home app needs to be updated to support it so it is even more functional

Does anyone know if this product is compatible with BC Building code? Thanks

    Asked by: DaveA
If the alarm is ULC rated, then yes - however if the home is built after 2014 then one alarm per floor needs to be hard wired.

Does the wired product network compatibly with the battery product? For example I am planning 2 wired and 3 battery Thanks

    Asked by: DaveA
Yes, they are both compatible with each other. I have one wired and 2 battery nest units. If you have Alexa, you can test, track battery levels and much more. Highly recommended.

How well does the nest smoke alarm/co2 detector work when smoke detectors should be at the ceiling to detect heat rising...& co2 should be at floor level?

    Asked by: nshangi
As a professional firefighter who deals with this stuff, I can tell you that carbon monoxide (CO, not CO2) has a molecular weight slightly lighter than air. Once CO levels start building in your home, it will be found in all parts of the home (if you have a forced air system). Therefore, it is my opinion that having the NEST Smoke/CO alarm installed on your ceiling is perfectly safe. So many people think CO alarms need to be near the floor, because many alarms are plug-in units, which are generally found on the wall, just above the floor.
