Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings about Nest WiFi Nest WiFi seems to provide solid reliable mesh coverage. But only if it's in routing mode. Not if you want to use your own router / use the wifi as a bridge. Because of this it's still significantly crippling for anything but the most basic installation. Plus the limited amount of settings makes you totally dependent on the automation doing everything right. For simple installs (never had a client self install any other WiFi system this simply), yes I'd recommend. For more complex setups with IoT or work related security or network segmentation, multi-wan, etc. No because although it provides good coverage it lacks the flexible configuration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable and good features once set up Once set up it is working well and has a lot of beat features. Especially if you have a lot of Google home connected devices. Guest network is also great. It allows you to give your guests access to only what they should have access to. For example all the chrome cast speakers and tvs, but not other smart home devices. I had issues with the set up. Setting up the router worked flawlessly, but when trying to add the points it took forever and had to retry several times for it to finally go through. Also, it surprised me how good the sound quality is on the points for their size. The bass isn't going to rumble the floor, but pretty good for the size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mesh system but... We love the Google Nest wi-fi 2 pack. Only down side is you never know if the nest had updated it's firmware. Also if my modem goes down I won't receive an email for some time. Some settings are not there I guess after an update and at times the broadcast button disappears for no apparent reason and is a real pain to get it back. I just wish a lot of the settings were more easily found instead of fishing through multiple settings to find one particular setting. There is no more volume control in the app for the point and now you physically need to be on the property to tap the top of the point for the volume control. Otherwise it's not a bad system.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nest Wifi Router died after 15 months I bought the Nest Wi-Fi router and point hoping for a quality product that provides great mesh coverage through our house and is simple to use. I was really disappointed when the router completely died after 15 months and being outside the 12 month warranty period, Google Support did not offer a replacement. This is unacceptable in my opinion and they didn’t follow up with my complaint. While the router and point provided a fast wifi signal, I found that setup was problematic and it took perhaps 10 tries to get the nest network setup. I found making changes to the Wi-Fi setup within the Google home app were slow to apply and didn’t always take effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I installed and use the Nest WiFi I have a larger home with the ISP's modem on one end of the house towards the rear. I have a Nest doorbell and a camera at the front of the house as well as my home security setup at the front of the house. The WiFi reception was dodgy at best before I installed the Nest WiFi. The Nest was very easy to install and I located the three boxes at different parts of the house including the front. Now I can use my camera at the front of the house in real time, and have flawless reception in the entertainment room above the garage. I am very pleased at the upgrade. A family member has also purchased this system after observing how easy it is to set up and use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constant disconnects and enternal misery Was really excited to have this product, loved the idea of having seemless mesh but after a few weeks my wifi was dropping a couple times an hour despite many, many attempts to correct it. I spoke with my ISP and google support to no avail. Currently, battered and broken, I have my wifi set up using my ISP router and the google point alone hoping it was just the google router but even now the google point messages me, gloating that it has dropped twice this hour.Should I ever get this thing working I will adjust my review, but the amount of effort I've put into this is insane for a product that is supposed to be so simple!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Goggle Nest Performance with 2 Points Overall the Goggle Nest system with 2 Points has resulted in much improved performance in a raised mid-sized bungalow (1500 ft^2 footprint) over an older Apple Extreme router with an Apple Airport Express extender. Internet download speeds are 60 Mbps and upload 9.5 mbps. The real test is WiFi signal strength. It is consistently good in the same room as the Goggle router and at a Point located mid-distance (30 ft) within the house but most often weak at a second Point located less than 60 ft away. So far I have been unable to increase signal strength of the second Point even with several locations between 50 and 60 ft. The number of connected device varies up to 28.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, with some caveats This definitely does the job, and improved the Wifi speed and coverage in my house. On the power-user side, there are some limitations. I was surprised to discover that there is no web management interface; you have to use a phone app to do this, which is much harder. Also, I also had trouble with a multi-IP host on the wired port; only the most recent IP to send a packet was being routed to. Few people are likely to be affected by this. The Google Home features are silly, but fortunately can be easily disabled. There's a switch to disable the microphone, and you can turn the glowing ring off from the management app.
