Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't play nice with others While the Google mesh wi-fi system provides good coverage, this system, like many others assumes that every other device on the network will belong to its own technological eco-system. In order for the Smart home to become a more universal reality, the various providers should really start working collaboratively to establish open standards to for all devices (including modems and routers). Only once we have a greater degree of compatibility will widespread adoption of smart technology be achieved. Currently there are too many areas where devices are competing and whether a network works or not becomes down to chance and order of powering on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Google Wifi has good value I had to choose between Google Wifi and Google Nest Wifi. I was buying a 3 pack to get adequate coverage for my residence. Google Nest Wifi is more expensive and had some getter features. However, only one of its devices can act as a router, with the others exclusively just access points. With Google Wifi, each of the three devices can act as a router. I think in theory, I'd be able to distribute each device to a different home. Given that they each make a good router, that makes this seem like a good deal.My main caveat is the lack of administrator options.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from wifi not bad, getting there I personally have issues with my network about once a day. My continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 shows networking issues.Resetting the whole network is a nightmare. The setup of each DEVICE or NODE and it relying on Google Home to use the IOS Wifi Networking service to identify the WiFi node is painfully slow and would be soul crushing for Senior Citizens. Could definitely use about 3 more iterations on usability / ease of use. It needs the equivalent improvement of moving from Nokia to Smart Phones. For a company with Billions to Trillions in profit, you CAN do better,... you know... if you wanted to. If you are interested, reach out to me, I can consult for you on this if you want. I am only critical because I know you can do better, much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly happy with it First bought Google mesh 3-pack, then needed to expand, so purchased a Google Nest mesh 3-pack to add to it. Set the Google Nest Router as the main router and the other 2 Google Nest and the 3 Google mesh devices as access points. Works well most of the time, but I sometimes find one or more nodes go offline for no explicable reason, later returning online on its own. I sometimes need to restart the whole mesh network to regain full functionality. Can somebody at Google Support help me to make my mesh network more robust?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from System is good, my house may be the problem I have 5 Google Wifi's in my house (2500 sq ft bungalow, main floor). Our joists are expanded metal so it can interfere with wifi signals which explains why we have 5 wifi's, all of which are hard wired. There are area's in our house where it seems that our device will switch between different points causing a shorterm drop in signal. this drop makes video calling almost impossible. I've tried moving the access points around, but unfortunately a lot of the over lap happens in areas where we need wifi both in the basement and main floor and 1 wifi point can't supply strong enough wifi to both places. it'd be nice if I could "lock" a device to a wifi point as long as the signal strength is >50% rather than jumping from one at 65% to another that seems to be at 68% and back again when there is some interference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Google WiFi Very happy with Google WiFi. Never given me a problem. I use Shaw as my ISP, and in the beginning I would have to bridge the modem Shaw provided. Now with the new modem and I upgraded my speed I no longer have to bridge my modem which is curious but it works fantastic. I have the main router and 4 Wi-Fi points, and receive excellent coverage. Two of my points are wired directly to the router through a switch the other two are wireless and get excellent connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable Wifi Over the past 18-months the Wifi has become so unreliable as to be almost unusable. The system used to work perfectly, but following recent updates the Wifi drops out constantly, hardwired points often show as having the weakest signal, and speed is 10% or less of what is available at the router. There had been no change in my setup, and the performance of this system has declined to the point it will need to be replaced if Google can't fix what they've broken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good addition to Nest Wifi I had a Nest Wifi Router and 2 points in a 3 floor house with thick walls. There were still some dead zones and weak spots in the house which is approx 3500 sq/ft so I added Google Wifi to my setup. Being able to connect these over Ethernet directly to my switch has provided the stability I was hoping for and they integrate nicely into the Google Home WIFI section. I'd recommend as an addition if / when needed.
