Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality. I'm a local contractor & I decided to buy this machine for a job I was going to do. I needed to paint 800 feet of trim & 12 doors. I bought the machine & set up was very easy right out of the box. Once using the spray gun I realised I needed a smaller tip as I was going through to much paint. The fellow at Home Depot was very helpful in helping me get what I needed. Once I replaced the tip on the gun I used way less paint. I painted all the trim & doors in about 4 to 5 hours. Cleaning the machine took me about 45 minutes. I wanted to do a thorough job. Then I added the Pump Armor to the pump for storage. All my trim & doors looked very professional when done. I took a job that would have taken me about 4 days to complete & did it in about 4 to 5 hours. Time is money & my customer was very pleased with the results too. Yes I would highly recommend the tool. I'm very happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality and result It's a great machine. I had never used a paint sprayer before and was surprised how easy it is to get it working and get a great result. Preparing the whole room and cleaning up the machine afterwards takes a lot of time and in my case as a homeowner it's not worth it. I'm going to spray my deck and then switch back to painting by hand. The machine stops quite early when you're about to reach the bottom of the pail, while there is still lots of paint left. This makes it very hard when you just need to finish the job and can't or don't need to open a new pail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes This product functioned well , it has potential to move an extremely large amount of paint . I am a contractor and I had some doors I needed to paint so I wanted to give this a shot . I went back to an hvlp finish as it was more why I was looking for but this functions very well. It dose have a lot of paint waste when you clean the machine and line although that is to be expected. I’ll be using it for priming and painting walls and such . I don’t like the finish it gives vs hvlp but those are two different methods so it makes sense

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the X7 The X7 is a great paint sprayer. We painted our wood siding house with a coat of oil primer then 2 coats of latex paint. It was 10x plus faster than using brushes and rollers, and 100 x easier on the body. There is more set up work to mask and cover areas you don't want painted, but that was a small investment of time. Clean up was easy too. There are a few steps to follow in clean up procedure but the include guide was easy to follow. Wished we'd bought it 8 years ago when we painted the same building with brushes and rollers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Started well, ended bad Bought to save money painting our ceilings. Sprayed about 2000 square feet of primer and was fast and flawless. Once I moved to the paint it became horrible. Left “tails” on all settings low to highest pressure. Switched paint brands and same thing. Expensive paints. We saved a lot from hiring professionals, but now have parallel lines running throughout our whole home now. I would love to have kept the unit but disappointing where it really mattered. Might be good for less finicky work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as expected Nozzle deteriorate fast and i had to buy 2 additional ones in less that 3 times use, unexpected expense

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This amazing sprayer!! My kids and I (13 and 11) painted 5 fences this summer. This sprayer was amazing. My 13 year old did the set up, spraying and cleaning. It was simple and worked really well. I don’t think I have any complaints except for how the paint pail hangs on the unit. It was not as sturdy as I would like to be lugging around a 5 gallon pail. We may try to figure out a way to secure the handle to the hanging device.

Is this ideal to use for painting stucco?

Asked by: Edwin
I’m sure it would.  I used it to spray a rough concrete pony wall and it worked flawlessly.  Have painted 3, 40’ shipping containers also with zero issue.  Only advice is, take your time and throughly clean it all after use.  Then it’s a lifetime purchase.  I’m very very happy with mine.

Can this model spray stain?

Asked by: Scott
Yes. It can spray most any paint product. The tip that comes with it can deal with a variety of products, but different tips are readily available if the product you have is unusual.

How to estimate the amount of paint needed? I am looking to paint my unfinished basement ceiling with black acrylic latex paint. Size is approx 34x24 feet.

Asked by: bgoya
Honestly, unless you have another very good use for this sprayer, I strongly suggest you just roll the ceiling. A good undercoat and then paint. It is such a small area that your prep will be more problem than its worth for spraying. It’s hard to estimate how much paint you will need, but good quality paint companies pretty much all have tables that include coverage for their products and will specify the nozzle size needed. That’s where you need to go. P.S. don’t use an inexpensive paint. Black is challenging enough and poor paint won’t help.

the Graco Magnum X7... was wondering what is the largest extentions ( total height) that I may use with this machine. Would prefer adding several extentions of different lenghts. Basically what is the max lenght and any special things required . thanks

Asked by: gord
Hi gord, Graco does not recommend exceeding 12' when connecting more than one extension to another (they will connect directly to one another). We have 10", 15", 20" and 30" tip extensions and 10", 20" 40", 60" and 80" heavy duty extensions. Thank You Graco Technical Support.

I followed the instruction carefully and started the machine with no problem. However, once in a while, the motor will keep running that prevented me to spray, so i have to prime it again, then it will work again. Is that normal? no leakage on the tube.

Asked by: Edwin
Hello Edwin, Thank you for your inquiry. Make sure that the top of the inlet strainer on the suction tube is fully submerged by a couple of inches. If the paint gets too low it will lose prime. When it starts to get low you can add paint to help keep it submerged. If you are in need of further assistance, please reach out to our knowledgeable technical service group. You can reference 130504 and call us at 844 241 9498 M - F 7:30am to 5:30pm CST. Thank you, Graco Technical Service Group

what happens if it is used for more than 125 GAL in an year?

Asked by: mohan
Hello Mohan, The 125 gallons per year specification is the amount of material you can expect to put through the unit on average before you will begin to see components on the unit (considered wear items) begin to need replacing. For example pumps, hoses, check vales, etc. Hopefully that clears that up for you. Thank You For Contacting Graco.
