Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped turn hollow tyres into solids, among others Expands well, fills gaps, even hollow tyres! I turned hollow shopping cart tyres essentially into solids. I'm pretty sure anyone could do that depending on their situation, especially if it ruptures or breaks apart. Same goes with hand truck wheels (though, that isn't an alternative to patching the tube). Only problem I have, is the propellant runs out far too quickly, even if the can is shaken to death (I have arthritis in the hands, so shaking it is difficult at times), properly aimed and angled. If there was such a valve to re-pressurise the can (if it uses butane, it should have such a valve), that would be amazing, just so all of the expanding foam could essentually be used entirely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad nozzle Great foam, but the applicator nozzle dislodges too easily... it never stays on again which ends in a leaky mess.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be prepared for a big mess!! The product works well, and does fill in the gaps. HOWEVER, the red part that screws on keeps popping off and not staying on and then the filler gets on EVERYTHING and it's a HUGE mess. It's happened to all of the cans I've used.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product with critical flaw. If the nozzle doesn't lock on to the can, you're in for a mess. It will unscrew and spew unremovable expanding slime across the project. Otherwise great product when it is dispensed properly. Very efficient at insulating hard to access areas.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Money wasted Dispenser nozzle is bad design all foam was leaking from the base of nozzle.
Date published: 2021-03-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Terrible nozzle Not a good vertical hold so wasted a bit but it will fill up gaps if gravity is your friend. Nozzle leaks
Date published: 2021-03-19
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed Nozzle/Very Messy I read previous reviews of the product about being messy and thought it must be from improper use. I was wrong. It is poorly designed. The nozzle is unable to securely seat because of 2 plastic tabs at the bottom of the nozzle. If it was able to lock in or make a tight connection there would not be any mess. It got the job done, but with too much leakage and mess. Wanted to add photos of the poor design and mess, but site would not allow me to do so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smart Dispenser is garbage The "smart" dispenser doesnt attach properly, there is no 'click' it just tightens a bit. The slightest jostling will unscrew it and shoot foam all over you and your work area. I thought maybe it was only an issue with one, but the same thing happened on second can. I would rather have the throw away dispenser, and waste half of a can when my project was done, versus wasting 90% of the can mid project, and making a huge mess. I will never buy again and wish I had my $20 back.

can this be used to fill cracks at the junction of garage wall and garage floor? I'd likely use polyurethene sealant on top of it once its hardened.

Asked by: Sido
Hi, Sido! Thank you for your question about using Great Stuff™ Big Gap Filler Insulating Foam Sealant. This product is specifically designed for gaps that are larger than 1" and up to 3" wide. If that is the size of the area you are trying to fill, this product will work for this application. It will cure as an inert plastic, but it is water-resistant and not water-proof. Covering it with the sealant in the garage area is a good idea.

What is the minimum required respirator protection if using in the interior of the house (basement)? Will a certain NIOSH designation be sufficient? I have a NIOSH P100 half face mask.

Asked by: Gordco
Hello Gordco, In regards to GREAT STUFF(TM), a NIOSH P100 half face mask should be sufficient when applying the foam. Having a well ventilated area where the foam is being sprayed will help as well.

Can this foam be used for expansion joint between garage and driveway? If so, how many cans of this foam do I need for 1 inch gap by 16 feet?

Asked by: Raymond
Hello Raymond, GREAT STUFF(TM) can be used for this application, however, we would recommend the GREAT STUFF(TM) Gaps & Cracks. A 16 oz can has a theoretical yield of 265-335 lineal feet (3/8" diameter bead). Once cured, to protect the GREAT STUFF(TM) from UV sunlight, the foam needs to be painted with a UV-resistant paint.

About how many cu/ft will 1 16oz can do?

Asked by: Denis
Hi Denis, we currently do not have measured values for GREAT STUFF™ as GREAT STUFF™ is not an insulation product and is instead an insulating foam sealant, that requires moisture in the air to cure. It was determined that having stated values, especially in sq/ft or cu/ft, encouraged customers to improperly use the product to fill voids such as behind drywall or under tub surrounds.

Is this product weatherproof?

Asked by: Patrick D
Hi Patrick D, GREAT STUFF™ Insulating Foam Sealant products are very sensitive to UV light. Exposure to UV light, even indirect sunlight will cause the foam to darken to an orange or reddish brown color in a matter of days or weeks. Constant exposure to direct sunlight will eventually cause the foam to break down and crumble apart. The foam must be painted or coated with a UV resistant coating if used outdoors. GREAT STUFF™ is also water resistant and not waterproof.
