Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped turn hollow tyres into solids, among others Expands well, fills gaps, even hollow tyres! I turned hollow shopping cart tyres essentially into solids. I'm pretty sure anyone could do that depending on their situation, especially if it ruptures or breaks apart. Same goes with hand truck wheels (though, that isn't an alternative to patching the tube). Only problem I have, is the propellant runs out far too quickly, even if the can is shaken to death (I have arthritis in the hands, so shaking it is difficult at times), properly aimed and angled. If there was such a valve to re-pressurise the can (if it uses butane, it should have such a valve), that would be amazing, just so all of the expanding foam could essentually be used entirely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Dispenser Ever I have been using Great Stuff for many years. It is a good product but the new dispenser is a disaster. It leaks where the dispenser meets the can and drips out a string of foam [see photo] My wife suggested gluing the dispenser to can with crazy glue which did stop the leak until the crazy glue gave way. Apply the glue only to black stem of can to avoid glue clogging dispenser. I will try caulking next time and see if it works better than crazy glue. GREAT STUFF DuPont should provide a small packet of suitable glue with each can of foam. Note to GREAT STUFF DuPont: I had the dispenser screwed all the way down; I had the same problem on all six cans. As so many reviewers have same problem I hope you can get this fixed and restore your good reputation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bought this today. I read some of the other reviews about the poor nozzle. They are all accurate. The first one cracked 1/2 way into using it allowing foam to bubble up everywhere. On the second I couldn't even thread the nozzle and then foam bubbled up out of the can. Completely useless. Unfortunately I need to return a few more cans and get something that works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not buy again Purchased this to fill some large gaps around framing in a cold cellar. Despite the newly designed dispenser nozzle the foam leaked out everywhere except through the nozzle which would not secure to the canister properly. Result was a big mess and waste of the product and money. There are other brands out there. Would suggest checking those out first before buying any Great Stuff products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst!!! The worst spray foam I've ever used! Bought a can, took off plastic to install dispenser- only to find it broken. Returned can to store with no problem and bought another can checking dispenser before buying. Installed dispenser (it says to make sure fully seated) It screws on in a couple turns but doesn't lock or even stay. Set the can down to put on gloves and the applicator unscrews off. Any movement you make with can without holding applicator tight at the same time will result with it spinning itself off! After realizing that I started spraying and the applicator broke before even using half the can leaving me with a handful of foam (now you know why gloves are a must). As far as filling gaps to 3", extremely unreliable, I was able to get up to 2" and even then it fell out in a few places. I have used spray foam dozens of times in 25 years of construction and this was the worst product ever. By redesigning the applicator to make this "smart dispenser" they only made it worse, not to mention false claims to fill 3" gaps! The smart dispenser was supposed to allow you to use the rest of the can again if you didn't finish it but is less than useless if it breaks before you get half way through the can.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product Fine, Dispenser Not I bought this product last week to fill gaps left by holes in concrete block from a chimney pipe. I screwed the nozzle into the top of the can. When I pulled the trigger, the foam came out of both the top of the straw (like it should) and where the trigger meets the can. Attempts to tighten the nozzle to the can were not successful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be prepared for a big mess!! The product works well, and does fill in the gaps. HOWEVER, the red part that screws on keeps popping off and not staying on and then the filler gets on EVERYTHING and it's a HUGE mess. It's happened to all of the cans I've used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad nozzle Great foam, but the applicator nozzle dislodges too easily... it never stays on again which ends in a leaky mess.

The can is explosive if it is heated up or exposed to flames and has that safety symbol but once it's cured is it safe to use around a dryer vent that goes outside?

Asked by: Starla
GREAT STUFF PRO Gaps & Cracks Polyurethane Foam Sealant is a gun-applied, insulating foam sealant that expands up to 3 inches to take the shape of gaps, creating a long-lasting, water-resistant and fireblock seal around plumbing and electrical, in basements, attics, and more. Look up www.greatstuff.dupont.com>public , for a consumer safety publication. . .all information is from a quick internet search. . . . All the best, I used it from outside and had no problems. Please wear gloves and goggles at the least that stuff sticks to you like crazy glue.

Once cured, is this product air-tight? I want to apply it around protruding utility pipes in the basement to block radon from entering the house.

Asked by: HHDD
It is definitely air tight. It is a gap filler and needs some space between pipes and concrete to expand to give that quality. If you have a small gap you might consider a good quality caulking. About the curing, I believe it has to be at least 18 degrees Celsius. Not recommended to apply in

I have a crawl space wall that is oddly shaped and rigid foam might not be an option. Could I layer 3" beads and do a vertical wall that's about 3 ft tall?

Asked by: Jordan
I tried to apply this to an area that was open, as I would term your application, and it does not work like that at all. It's meant for crevices and spaces where it can expand and harden. A gap filler. You might want to rent a foam insulation machine. Ask Home Depot Rental if they have one. That foam is meant to stick to surfaces like you describe.

Can this be used outside of a breaker panel covering up the wires the run down from the ceiling?

Asked by: DraftyBoi
Yes. This will not damage covered wires. Great for outside applications..

can this be used to fill cracks at the junction of garage wall and garage floor? I'd likely use polyurethene sealant on top of it once its hardened.

Asked by: Sido
Hi, Sido! Thank you for your question about using Great Stuff™ Big Gap Filler Insulating Foam Sealant. This product is specifically designed for gaps that are larger than 1" and up to 3" wide. If that is the size of the area you are trying to fill, this product will work for this application. It will cure as an inert plastic, but it is water-resistant and not water-proof. Covering it with the sealant in the garage area is a good idea.

What is the minimum required respirator protection if using in the interior of the house (basement)? Will a certain NIOSH designation be sufficient? I have a NIOSH P100 half face mask.

Asked by: Gordco
Hello Gordco, In regards to GREAT STUFF(TM), a NIOSH P100 half face mask should be sufficient when applying the foam. Having a well ventilated area where the foam is being sprayed will help as well.

Can this foam be used for expansion joint between garage and driveway? If so, how many cans of this foam do I need for 1 inch gap by 16 feet?

Asked by: Raymond
Hello Raymond, GREAT STUFF(TM) can be used for this application, however, we would recommend the GREAT STUFF(TM) Gaps & Cracks. A 16 oz can has a theoretical yield of 265-335 lineal feet (3/8" diameter bead). Once cured, to protect the GREAT STUFF(TM) from UV sunlight, the foam needs to be painted with a UV-resistant paint.
