Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad design does not work. Bought 3 cans 3 days ago. The instructions state 'Tighten the straw firmly on the valve'. That is impossible as the vale turns when the straw is tightened. When foam pressure is opened into the straw, it unscrews from the valve. A horrible mess. I am returning the remaining two cans. The old system worked much more reliably.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not so smart "smart dispenser" The dispenser unscrews itself as other reviewers have posted and it clogs. Not what they say "Reuse for up to 30 days with the SMART DISPENSER". It becomes unusable after the first use. How is more plastic in a simple tube supposed to be smart? Dear manufacturer, please put back the dumb dispenser, at least that one could be unclogged with a stick or thick wire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the can exploded !! I Bought this to fill some small gaps in a shed I just built, not the first time i use this product. I always follow the instruction and thank god I was wearing eye protective and gloves(purple in picture) because the top of the can exploded about 1 min after using it. (It was kept under normal temperature and not exposed to any elements). The product went all over my tools and clothes, I'm honestly not sure what to do about this , it's pretty bad. I guess an honest review is the first step.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loose cap and poor flow The cap would not stay tight and unscrewed often, which broke to the seal. The flow was difficult to control and did not come out evenly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Good Used 4 cans to seal up my very leaky shed sills. Water has rolled in for years and rotted the sills/bottom of some studs. Someone built a good solid stucco clad shed decades ago and forgot about dealing with water intrusion..... but, shed is perfectly solid. so....instead of jacking it all up and replacing the sills with now expensive covid wood, decided to try a simpler cheaper & far easier solution....foam. There's actually a YouTube video of a guy using this Great Stuff to level his sidewalk...and it worked. They sell foam to secure fence posts.....figured it might work for this purpose. Easy enough to cut out if need be later.... but, now....NO... water leaks , and a couple of loose studs are now rock solid. This stuff gets in all over and sticks to everything. The gaps between the outside walls and sills totally sealed, rotted sills/studs filled in and tighten up...This stuff truly is great! I will now seal up the outside as well, and should be good for years. And, it worked for me on the shed. 4 cans, no issues. But I used up all the can right away, so about re-use, I can't comment. Be sure to shake it up really good, and hold it upside down. The amount that comes out will depend how much you squeeze. A little, or a lot and it's a bit of a learning curve. I'll be buying again. Spray foam adds a lot of racking strength to your walls, so might do a 2 foot high around the bottom perimeter of the shed. I'm not entirely sure all of it came out exactly as it was suppose to. More shaking to mix it up better most likely, or not dispensing correct amount vs. speed of application..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Foam in a can Works as expected. One drawback is the consistency/amount of foam dispensed varies and you have to adjust as you go.

Is this a low expansion foam, and would it be suitable for adhering foam board to a concrete wall?

Asked by: Cornishgal
The foam expands to fill cracks, and can have an expansion rate like hair mousse, or even more so. I isn't an adhesive per se, although it can stick to your gloves and get quite messy. I also found that it can shrink over time, or maybe the cracks in that part of my foundation were getting a bit bigger. It doesn't last more than a year or so and needs to be redone. If you tried to use it as an adhesive, it would be very difficult to get a uniform amount that you could spread around, because it expands quickly and in an uncontrolled way. The short part of this long answer is that I don't think that is it's intended purpose, so I would not recommend using it that way. :-)

What is the diameter at the widest point of the nozzle?

Asked by: SJ78
The width of the straw is 8.5mm. This is 1.75cm from the tip. I'm assuming you have an application that is tight to reach where the foam needs to go. If you have control of the foam as it exists the can I expect it will propel forward a total of 4cm by the force of it leaving the can and during the expansion. As well if you are working around a finished surface put down wide painters tape so you won't discolor painted drywall, flooring, etc. Equally you really should leave the foam to cure once it is dispensed. If it isn't going well you may be able to cut it out once cured and try again provided there isn't a near by utility that could risk damaging. (Such as cutting into electrical wires, natural gas service, etc.) Finally I will remind you the value of wearing eye protection and disposable gloves. It gets very messy if it is on your skin.

It says "Reuse for up to 30 days with the SMART DISPENSER". How do I store it after using it for the first time? Do I leave the dispenser on or take it off? How do I make sure it's not clogged next time I use it?

Asked by: beautifulpig
P.S. It did a great job filling the cracks during a one time use.

Is this the right product to fill woodpecker holes in acrylic stucco before re-applying the stucco over the foam?

Asked by: Bruce
Hello, Bruce! Thanks for your questions about Great Stuff™ Gaps and Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant. This product is designed to fill small gaps and cracks that are up to 1". As long as the holes that you are filling are that size or smaller, this will work well for this application. The foam should be allowed to fully harden and cure before you cover it. After it hardens, if it overfills the holes, you can use a razor blade or sand paper to trim it down flush with the wall.
