Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well when it works Ive went through probably 10+ of these. About 20-30% of the time the nozzle is a dud and it leaks out the back. The nozzles are annoying to take off and swap

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good Insulation, Horrible Application This stuff fills gaps well assuming you can get it to apply where you want it. I wasted 3/4 of the can trying to apply it because it was oozing out of every part of the applicator other than the end tip. I ended up with more of it on my floor, hands, pants and shirt than on the actual job. Yes I checked that the applicator was screwed on all the way, although there is no locking mechanism once it is on so it slowly unscrews it self as you use it then oozes out. Half way through application then the tip snapped and it was game over. I ended up having to scoop it up off the floor and try and apply it to my job. Now I have to try and get it off the floor. My pants and shirt are garbage now. Thankfully I was wearing rubber gloves because I'm pretty sure my hands would also be toast if not. 3 Cans and $40 down the drain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product Even though I held the straw with one hand while holding the can with the other, foam still found a way to escape from behind the straw. I had to clean off the top of the can FOUR times during application. I was thankfully prepared for a mess, because that's what I got.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Window and Door Insulating Foam I remember the days where if you didn't use a full can you would have to toss it as it would not work again. These days you can only use a bit and come back to finish the project or use this foam in another area on another day. The Foam spreads great in the cracks that you need covered and sticks to the surfaces great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible new dispenser The new dispenser on these is absolutely terrible. They constantly have leak issues. The pressure will spin them off the can and make a mess. They much thicker then the old plastic ones which is a pain to deal with. If I ever have to use great stuff again I will be ordering dispensers on Amazon to replace faulty new dispensers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smart dispenser window foam. Not so smart The foam leaked out the back side of the plastic tube. Did not matter what I tried it just kept leaking.it got all over my clothes and on the floor. No matter how much you prepare for a little leakage or drips , you aren’t prepared for that mess

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved dispenser No problems with the product. I have always used Great Stuff. I like the new style dispenser. Easier to work into tight spaces. The old system with the straw worked but this is better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low expansion foam works as advertised Good for applications where you DON'T want a lot of foam expansion and the associated pressure. Very sticky and messy when wet. Dries in about 50min. Cures overnight. Can be cut with utility knife afterwards (it's not as hard or tough as standard beige insulating foam).

I used it to insulate my door when I installed my Portable ac unit.  How can i take out the foam now? It is cured

Asked by: Judy
Hello - Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealant products will chemically bond to just about all surfaces in a matter of minutes. Once cured, it cannot be removed with solvents and the only option is mechanical removal. On hard, smooth, or polished surfaces this may be accomplished very carefully with a single-edged razor blade. A more aggressive approach such as steel wool or sandpaper will damage the underlying surface.

I removed my old caulking around my outside windows and doors and would like the fill the gaps before recaulking. Will this product work well in filling gaps approx 1" wide before sealing?

Asked by: Alex
This is an expandable foam so it will get into nooks and crannies. Once cured, excess can be trimmed. For outdoor application, I’d want to make sure it was well sealed to keep moisture from getting into it. It should be noted that this, in my experience, will not provide a rigid substrate. I used it, interior, to fill the gaps created around a window, created by shims. Hope this helps.

Hi, when it says"Repels/deflects water" in description, does that mean this product is good for small water proofing purposes? I want to use this product to fill the gap of my outside wall and the ground concrete around the house, the gap is almost half

Asked by: Patrick
Hi Patrick, Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealant products are an air sealant product that is water resistant, not water proof. Great Stuff™ products are very sensitive to UV light. Exposure to UV light, even indirect sunlight will cause the foam to darken to an orange or reddish brown color in a matter of days or weeks. Constant exposure to direct sunlight will eventually cause the foam to break down and crumble apart. The foam must be painted or coated with a UV resistant coating if used outdoors.

Can this be use to seal small cracks and to seal around 2x4 frame before installing fiberglass insulation?

Asked by: CoffeeX
Hi CoffeeX, We would recommend using GREAT STUFF™ Fireblock rather than GREAT STUFF™ Window & Door. Make sure to let the product fully cure (8 hours) before installing any insulation!

Can this be used around an outside door that is used all day.    The rubber seal around door is ripped in places from my cat scratching at door inside,,, wondered f I took the rubber seal off and used this instead

Asked by: Brenda
Hi Brenda, while it is possible it could be used in this application, the product was not designed for this application and was designed to be used around window and door frames under the trimming for air sealing. If used in this application please know that GREAT STUFF™ Insulating Foam Sealant products will chemically bond to just about all surfaces in a matter of minutes, as such if it is not given enough time to fully cure your door might get sealed shut. As such we would not recommend using our product for your application.
