Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a great product, slow and messy I was surprised at how well rated this product was, but I had a lot of issues. Not sure if I picked up a defective product, but the stuff came out extremely slow, like 1 cm every five seconds. After a while it started coming out near the base. I tried scooping it out around the base to put it around the gap that I was trying to fill but it’s extremely messy and stains everything that it touches. Paid 15 bucks for it and would not recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal, works great. This stuff expands very well, and the reusable dispensing tip works very well if used correctly.

Can I use this product to seal joints underneath a plywood sunroom flooring that has a 3' crawlspace

Asked by: Paxton
Hi Paxton - Yes, but instead of the Great Stuff™ Multipurpose Black Insulating Foam Sealant use the regular Great Stuff™ Gaps and Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant as it is the least expensive of the products. Make sure the surfaces are clean, free of dust and dirt. The minimum temperature should 0°C and rising. Wear gloves and eye protection and have acetone handy for clean up and make to clean up quickly. Once the product has become tack free the effectiveness of the acetone is diminished.

Could this product be used to seal the void between an ABS pipe (sleeve through foundation) and a plastic water pipe? This pipe is subgrade...trying to seal from the inside to prevent having to dig from the outside.

Asked by: Jony
Hi, Jony! Thank you for your question about Great Stuff™ Multipurpose Black Insulating Foam Sealant. This foam can be used to fill, seal, and insulate gaps up to 1 inch. You can use it to seal gaps and cracks in masonry, gas lines, landscaping, and plumbing penetrations. Based on your description, this should work for your application as long as the gap you are sealing is 1 inch or less.

is it safe to use in ponds?

Asked by: anabanana
Cured foam is considered inert and not harmful. However, while Great Stuff™ is water resistant, it is not waterproof. It can be used to redirect the flow of water in ponds but if submerged, it may break down over time.

Can I use this for cracks between my house and driveway, near the foundation? It is UV proof? Thanks!

Asked by: JMJm
Hi, JMjm! Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealant products are very sensitive to UV light. Exposure to UV light, even indirect sunlight, will cause the foam to change colors to an orange or reddish-brown color in a matter of days or weeks. Constant exposure to direct sunlight will eventually cause the foam to break down and crumble apart. The foam must be painted or coated with a UV resistant coating if used outdoors.
