Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Fashioned V-Trellis 50 years of woodworking behind me, I could have easily made these two trellises, but the metal base sold me. For my installation I cut off the metal part that would push into the ground to make it freestanding. Having recently built a veranda on the back of my 100 year old house, this trellis was the exact look that I wanted. Easy to assemble! I painted before installing and used short lengths of 1/2" copper pipe to pull the trellis away from the shingles. Time will tell to find out if my Clematis likes them as much as I do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good buy The bracket at the bottom is strong and seems like it will last. It was easy to put together. We haven't secured it to the wall yet but it seems to be fine the stakes at bottom go deep enough that it is stable.

Can I use this as a trellis for cucumbers?

We use ours for a honeysuckle bush and it is more than adequate. I would not hazard a guess on cukes; small pickling ones perhaps. But as to the trellis it is certainly rugged enough for almost anything. Great product.
