The HALO Home smart LED motion sensor flood incorporates Bluetooth Mesh technology into a durable, twin head design for an advanced outdoor lighting solution built for high performance. Features configurable settings for both the motion sensor and floodlight, including sensitivity, duration and scene control, as well as grouping, scheduling, dimming and white color tuning. The MST20C does not require a hub and can be wirelessly controlled directly from any compatible smart device utilizing the HALO Home app, or any HALO Home wireless switch or dimmer.

One would think that turning a light should be simple. Also, why does the app need access to my photos on my phone? And when I denied access, threw me in a loop of questions that led back to access to my photos.

The program would detect a floodlight, but not motion floodlight, so settings were missing. Couldn't set motion controls, only worked as dusk to dawn light.. did several factory resets, would briefly detect device as a motion floodlight, then revert to floodlight only. Returned to the store, device is unreliable.. Also didn't like the Android app

Looked everywhere for a security that I could dim to also use as an area light. This not only does that, but I can change the light color, so I don't have to deal with the blinding antiseptic white (5000K) of most security lights. Easy install - easily adapted to my unusual mounting situation (see photo). The Bluetooth control through phone app is wonderful: the light is mounted 12' high, so making adjustments would mean going and coming with an 8' ladder, if all the controls were on the light itself, like most motion detector security lights. And being able to adjust the motion detector sensitivity with the app is great. At 25% sensitivity, it goes off just when I want it to, instead of every time there's a little breeze or boat wake. Overall, outstanding product and excellent value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have mounted 2 units at the back of the house. The intensity is not as great as the halogen bul... I have mounted 2 units at the back of the house. The intensity is not as great as the halogen bulb units they replaced but the motion sensing is good. The lights detected a fox in the backyard - waiting to find out how well they react when the deer attempt to eat the hostas. Programming was reasonably simple - I have stored schedules for the different seasons and will enjoy the ease of switching schedules as the daylight hours decrease/increase.

Can I operate this device with the Google Home Hub and can I override the motion sensor to turn the light on and off with the hub?

This fixture does not require any hub. You need to have Halo Home app in your mobile. Using the Halo Home app, you can control both fixture and sensor separately.

The light runs off of Bluetooth. It is not a Wifi light, so your answer is yes you have to be in the vicinity for the light to connect via Bluetooth.
