Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult From the start it has been a challenging experience. The instructions are minimal and don't assume you can find info on YouTube or the Hampton Bay website. It was a lot of trial and error for a process that should have been so simple. If you read replies and speak to the sales staff the answer to the question about how many lights can you add is always about voltage and what kind of bulbs you will be using. Well in our experience it isn't about voltage, it's about weight. We have 4 of the 776180 track heads and would have liked to put 2 more on, but it cannot hold the weight. When we added the 5th (with LED BULBS) it wouldn't work. We also have to place the other 4 at the support stems, and not the main connection stem because it wouldn't work there. We also had to bend the track rail so that it went against the curve and would apply pressure to the electrical connector or it wouldn't work. There is no instruction about how to bend the rail other than angles and a picture of 4 different configurations one could use. We have since found the positions that work for the 4 lights that we have on it now and it provides all of the flexibility that we want. However we would like to put a couple more lights on. This brings us to the next issue which I will post in questions and that is can more support stems be purchased and can you get extensions for these stems? It's a very nice looking light, but has it challenges. So if you're up for a challenge and 4 lights are enough for you we would recommend it.

How many heads might be installed on this track?

Asked by: Anonymous
This track is line voltage. This means that you are limited by the circuit not by a transformer. (120 V circuit at 15 amps is 1800 watts) The track heads for this system are max rated at 50 watts each. So, if you are using 50 watt halogen lamps, you "technically" could have 36 fixtures on it. Now, you wouldn't/couldn't put that many on a 10'-0" track. The weight of the fixtures will be more of the issue than wattage since this is a flexible track and will flex with the weight of the fixtures. Due to the weight of LED lamps (due to their heat sinks) I would suggest careful placement of the supports to ensure that you have adequate support for your track heads.
