Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why the change? This light used to be perfect. Simple, but nice design, inexpensive and functional. After having purchased this light (or it's 2 bulb counterpart) in the past I was very disappointing to notice that they have changed the 'pewter' clip. They are now super cheap looking low gauge stamped sheet metal. Not only are they much flimsier than the solid metal clips shown on the box (and displayed in store), they are also very obviously sheet metal to even the casual observer. I would much rather have seen the price a few dollars more and the solid metal clips remain. After buying about 8 of these, I returned all but 2 (which I had already installed) and went with a different solution,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clips similar to the ads, but not as strong The concept of the light is good, but the light also mentions the pewter clips, this is similar in design, but not as thick as those clips, but more in keeping with the 'older style' ( The individual Hampton's and the larger Commercial ones have a dome clip which are more brushed chrome rather than matted ). The Wall Sconce seems to still have the 'old' pewter design still. The design of the rest of the light is clean and makes changing bulbs easier than the other ceiling style and the price is right. This is essentially a commercial pack of the 6 Hampton Bay's at a better price. Also of note, the light holds two bulbs, but only to max 60W bulbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clips no longer as advertised on the box/picture The concept of the light is good, but light also mentioned the pewter clips are no more - BUT - they still advertise them on this site, on the box and the demo models in the store. The Pewter clips were solid and decorative, the new clips are dome like and more brushed chrome rather than matted. This was the case for both the small and large dome's, not great if you are matching previous versions. The Wall Sconce seems to still have the 'old' pewter design still. If you don't mind the new clips, the design of the rest of the light is clean and makes changing bulbs easier than the other ceiling style. Also of note, the new design holds two bulbs, but only to max 60W bulbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright and easy to install I don't have much experience with putting in light fixtures but this one is pretty easy to do. It only took me about 30 minutes and everything comes with the fixture that you'll need. I was also impressed that the glass is easy to slide in and take out so future changing of bulbs will not be difficult. It is also great that standard light bulbs work in this fixture so it doesn't cost an arm and a leg just to get the extra bulbs that are required (three). I would recommend this to anyone that needs a bright light fixture. Our kitchen looks so much better and we bought another for our hallway after installing the first one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light, poor electrical design. The light is wonderful and matches our other old lights pretty close. However the wiring cold be way better. Each of the three lights is wired independently which means trying to fit 4 wires into the wire nuts provided is impossible. The wire nuts supplied are for two to three small wires, not meant to tie it into existing copper wire that feeds power. Luckily I had some larger ones already from the existing light. My suggestion for future design would be to have all the lights connected together with only one black and one white to connect to house wires. As their drawing instructions show.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and looks great I know the poster above may have had a problem with the lights but I would suggest that these fixtures should be used with compact fluorescent or LED lighting (both give off alot less heat plus they are easier on the electric bill) as I've had them installed in my house for 6 years using CFL bulbs without a single issue. No signs of any thing melting and they look great too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does NOT have Pewter Clips This model DOES NOT HAVE PEWTER CLIPS. Description on box says "Pewter Finish". But the clips are made of stamped steel with a CHROME finish. I have an older model that was installed 5 years ago. It does have real Pewter Clips. Compared to that one, they skimped on quality of materials everywhere in this new model. I can't find the same light with the quality of the older model. I bought 2 because it's only $14.

This unit states that it is rated for 60 watt bulbs. Is that in total (3x60watts or 3x20watts)?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, you can use up to 60watts for each bulb

Why are there 2 black and 2 white wires on this light, instead of the standard one of each so it’s straight forward to install?

Asked by: Annie
It's a 2-bulb fixture and each bulb socket has its own set of wires. To simplify the installation with only one black/white wire would require additional labor and complexity to join the two sets of socket wires, and would then also require more testing at the factory which would increase cost.
