Smart Plug-in Edison Bulb RGBW Color Changing LED String Light with Hubspace (12-Bulb) Planned use is to install beneath my covered open air patio this upcoming spring. Each light has its own hanging loop making an easy spring installation and quick removal for storage during the winter months. I will be using brass cup hangers that will remain all year. Outdoor quality electrical cording. A continuous string of 12 bulbs that is expandable. The light controls are on the cord. Bulb colors change to red, green, blue and white. Many pre-programmed combinations. Overall length is 27'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set of lights [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had a different set of lights for my back porch and they didn’t last a season. I picked these up because I liked the look of them and the quality. I wasn’t disappointed when they came in. The cord is thick, heavy duty and the main casing is perfect for outdoors. The loops on each light make it easy to zip tie to the deck railings, very smart design. Although, I mostly use the standard white light, the color and combination of flashing is a nice bonus to mix things up. I downloaded the app to go along with these and it was very straightforward. They are also very easy to add additional lines.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I ended up returning this lighting. Great concept but... I ended up returning this lighting. Great concept but poor performance. I daisy-chained three (3) strings to one controller. Portions of each string acted on their own. For example, I selected the "steady white" light setting. Theoretically all lights on all three strings should have been white. zin practice the lights were "steady white" initially as programmed. Then, for no apparent reason, individual light bulbs starting turning colors, blinking, etc. Resetting the controller had no impact. Very frustrating to have taken the time to install the whole thing only to have take them all down again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it Bought these and tried to hook up. Tells me wifi 2.4 is not available and will not hook up to blue tooth. Call support home depot support connects me to Hampton bay. Hampton bay customer support had me redo everything, still couldn't connect to wifi or Bluetooth even though the lights showed up on the app as online couldn't control anything on app or turn lights on or off. Support said is a bad controller and sent me a new controller. Tried the new controller still having the same issues.

I am a technology educator with multiple degrees and certificates ranging from Home Technology Integration, Network+, CCNA, Security+, etc.... I've spent two days trying to connect these to wifi to no avail. There are searches/ questions online but not troubleshooting answers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldnt be any worse The lights do whatever they want. You cant just have white lights on full time. Using the app, or setting them manually, within 30 min, the lights start changing colors and patterns. The app does control them, but the same, the lights eventually start doing whatever they want to do. They also shut off whenever they feel like it. Then sometimes, some of the lights don't work at all. Wifi only works on the 2.4 network, which is not ideal, either. Def a return!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They work fine. The bulbs are durable, I accidentally dropped them on concrete and they held up no problem. The Hubspace app works fine, I had no problem pairing with the lights and controlling their color. But there are two issues: first, Hubspace requires a connection to the local network rather than just communicating with my phone via Bluetooth. That's a privacy risk. Second issue: these lights just aren't very bright. I was hoping to get a good glow from them, but they're quite dim. Overall I'm happy, but if I'd known about the network requirement and the dimness I would have kept looking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not sync correctly, AND it was clearly used before but sold as “new" I tried everything I could think of including all the recommendations I saw suggested on another persons review with the same problem, but nothing would make these sync correctly- the first 2 bulbs synced and were controllable but the entire rest of the string was stuck on another setting. I’m going to return these as defective and not waste any more of my time, going to get a plain white string instead. The idea is great in theory but unfortunately something is defective. ALSO: these lights were sold to me as “new” but they were clearly already used once and returned as the bulbs were already attached. Wondering if someone had the same issue with them and returned them but they were resold? If so that’s very shady. Not happy at all with this purchase, don’t waste your time or at least be prepared they may not work at any point in time down the road

We connected 3 strands of the 24 ft color changing string lights however after downloading the app and connecting the lights the app will only work 1 stand of lights the other two just do their own thing. How can I fix this? I?ve called and left messages?

I have 3 strands & had the same exact problem. The issue is w/ the connection. If it gets cold or pulled too tight, those connectors can come slightly apart & desynch all of the lights after the connection. Be sure there isn't a lot of stress on the line.

I want to string 2 lights out from a single point and am searching for a y split connection that will work with these. Any recommendations?

Hello Splitter, you could have the two strings (with controller on both strings) originating from a single power bar or extension cord, and going off into their separate directions. In the Hubspace app, you would simply add them to the same 'Room' (at the bottom of the screen in the app), and control accordingly. Probably the closest you'll get to a "Y" configuration.

Does this work with a 5GHz network?

How do you find the different preset light settings for colors (like for holidays)? I have clicked everything in the app. What do I click on to find them?

Select the lights your trying to configure. There will be four options on the top. 1st is just what temperature white you would like. 2nd is what color you?d like. 3rd is the presets. 4th is custom where you can place a color for each bulb.

Lights were working great for a month but now all of a sudden the second half just flicker with random colors and do not match the set. I tried everything in the app nothing is fixing the issue. Defective?
