Reasonably priced, this replaced similar Hampton Bay fan that was 10 years old that runs 24/ in summer. The fan runs quiet, with 60 watt bulbs lights are super bright. I like the multi speed ability. I started to only gave it a 4 because Hampton used to have a cradle to mount the colored remote which had easy to see buttons on wall. I'm disappointed this was just remote, white, no cradle. we ended up velcroing to cabinet. I gave it 5 because Hampton added multi hour timers to the remote, which are handy.

This fan is so quiet that you cant even hear it. Hallellujah! (I look forward to sleeping tonight.) INSTALLATION NOTE FOR THOSE THAT GAVE A BAD REVIEW FOR DIFFICULTY INSTALLING BLADES - some reviews complained that the light plate sticks out too far making it very difficult to install the blades. I almost didnt purchase the fan because of those reviews but thought i would give it a shot and hope for the best. Note that there is a small section on the light plate that has an indention designed so that you can insert your screwdriver directly under the screw hole to screw the blades in tightly. It was super easy. The directions dont say its there, but Just look Look for the indention.

Thank you for your question. No special switch is needed. If you want to see if your switch is possibly affecting the light output, you can wire the light power wire (blue wire) directly to the house supply instead of the switch. You can also change the bulbs to brighter bulbs. The each socket of the fan is rated for 40-watts maximum, so you can install higher wattage equivalent LED bulbs to increase the light output.

Thank you for your question. This fan use to include CFL bulbs but it had been upgraded to include LED bulbs. The main photo shows LED bulbs. Some of the alternate images show CFL, but the fan does include LED bulbs.

Thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible to replace the original light kit with a domed light kit. Please note that you will need to call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) to order a blank switch cup in order to attach the light kit to the fan.

We purchased this fan and had installed without downrod, then moved and now need downrod but can't locate it. How can I go about getting the standard downrod supplied with it originally and the ball socket it hangs from? I believe it's a 1" threaded rod.
