Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really moves air We installed two of this in a 1000 square foot room that has 20ft cathedral ceilings. Easy to install and they work great. Most of the time the low to medium settings is all we need. They look great and just blend in. On high they really cool the room down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moves tonnes of air If you want to move a lot of air this is the fan. We have two and they work great. Good value. Only beef would be that you have to loosen and raise the cowling to access the switch to reverse the air flow direction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid because of simple design flaw I bought this fan as I needed a very simple, clean-looking ceiling fan for my office, and this was the only fan Home Depot has. When I tried to install it, the set screw of the base of the pivoting ball joint that's required to be disassembled for installation was screwed on so tight that it could not be removed as the screw was small and made of a soft metal, easily stripping the head. I exchanged for another fan and also experienced the same fault. My next time back in the store to exchange I inspected a couple more fans in the store, and with the help of a Home Depot staff from the hardware department we tried to unscrew the stubborn set screw from a couple of these fans but they all had the same small soft screw that's fastened too tight. No matter how carefully and using most appropriate tools the screw kept on stripping. We both came to the conclusion that this model of fan is not worth buying and impossible to install, and the Home Depot staff was honest enough to tell me to buy a ceiling fan elsewhere. Other than the faulty set screw, the blades were made of plastic and felt cheap and could have the potential of yellowing over time. Also the number of exposed screw heads and other details cheapens the look of this fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 18" downrod with Hampton Bay Industrial Ceiling Fn Just bought one from North Surrey location - no 18" downrod as promised online, pkg only contains a 6 in" downrod. Are these pkg'd differently?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moves a lot of air This fan is in my sunroom which gets very hot in the summer. It has changed the room from a sweatbox to comfortable on those humid stagnant days. I love it. Just be aware it comes with a control box and the fan. No wiring. Buy an outdoor extension cord and you're set. I'm thinking on putting a few in my greenhouse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect for vaulted ceiling Installed it last week in my open concept living/kitchen and LOVE it! On low it keeps air circulated, and on hi it makes the curtains move! I doubt I will ever need to run it on hi but I really am happy with this purchase. I also like that it's energy efficient and it's very quiet. Only thing I'd change is to have a remote... wall switch only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best celing fan for the price I am from India so i have seen temp in the 40 to the 50 cel range while the highest we get in canada is 30 to 36 i was looking for a celing fan that moved air and this was the best, my sister came to my house and saw the performance of this fan and immediately went and got one for her master bedroom we don't need to turn on ac with this thing going it brings the temp down and i save electricity . I wish they would add a single light bulb to this fan it would be perfect.

How is the wall control wired? It the reverse function on the remote or fan? I'm replacing a basic ceiling fan with a pull cord with normal on off switch, can't find wiring instructions anywhere

Asked by: Brandon
Wired like regular on off switch, 0 to 4 on switch, no remote and reverse is switch on the fan itself.

Will this fan work on a 3/12 pitch ceiling? if not what parts do I need.

Asked by: Jill
Thank you for your question. This fan is designed to be standard mounted with the included 6 in. downrod. You may be able to install it on a 3/12 ceiling with an 18 in. extension downrod sold separately.

WHAT TYPE OF WIRE IS REQUIRED FOR THE WIRED REMOTE 14/2 OR 14/3

Asked by: Keith
Thank you for your question. The wall control is compatible with 14/2 but you may need 14/3 if you need to run a ground wire. Please consult the manual and a licensed electrician if you are unsure about the wiring.

Can I wire multiple fans to 1 speed control switch or does each fan need its seperate switch. I want all my fans to operate at the same time at the same speed.

Asked by: Jack
We have 2 wired together on a single control. They work great.

What is the minimum ceiling height for this fan? Do you have to use the down rod?

Asked by: jahson
Thank you for your question. The fan is required to be installed with a clearance of 10ft from the floor to the blades. The minimum ceiling height would be 12ft. This fan can not be installed without a downrod.

Is there a 12" downrod available for this fan?

Asked by: Dos Gringos
Thank you for your question. We would suggest checking your local Home Depot store or calling customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) to check availability. This fan uses a 1/2" diameter downrod and will be compatible with any 1/2" diameter ceiling fan extension downrod.
