Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really cools and freshens Best deal on a window fan here - and every bit as good as the $100+ version. Full-featured: 2x 9-inch fans each with its own motor, so both can set to pull fresh air into the room, or reversed to push stale air out of the room; or, best of all, have one pushing and one pulling in air exchange mode. And each has its own variable speed control. Not to mention an auto-start/stop thermostat. Definitely cools and freshens the room's air. And much quieter than a standing fan. Only had it a day so no opinion of its durability, but seems well made. Works well in the vertical position. Holds securely in window frame just by closing window. Easy installation, no tools. The retractable accordion spacer could be bigger. Height with spacers fully extended is 33 inches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This fan has In & out at the same time! It's 30C in the day and 18C at night in August here on the Rideau Canal in eastern Ontario. The in&out feature removes the hot air and draws in the cool night air at the time. Very effective at cooling the room down quickly for sleeping. Bonus! I live near the Canopy Growth mega-construction project so the traffic noise starts around 530am. This fan is quiet but provides a "white noise" that cancels out most of the traffic sounds! I love the removeable feet. Fits very well in my double hung window. Installation was a snap. The only thing that I found vexing was I did need a flat screwdriver to manage the accordions; they have little ridges in the track to prevent slipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan No fancy lights to burn out; highest setting is right next to off so you don't have to wear out the low and medium setting to get to high (3 speeds); reversible (intake and exhaust; both blades work on (1) intake (2) exhaust or (3) "exchange" = one blade taking in cool air, the other blade taking out hot air; thermostat to automatically turn off when you reach your desired temperature (I always keep it on high to never turn off); the expandable panels (on sides) are useful; I only use the one on the top (behind the blinds in photo); very good air flow; lightweight; quiet; great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly I purchase this a little over a month ago for a small room and have been extremely happy with the results. It sits in the bedroom window of the room my two sons share, and every evening it feels like the room has air conditioning; cool enough for them to sleep well. During the day even during a heat wave it keeps the room tolerable. I am looking forward to buying 2 more of these fans, possibly 3, for the rest of my apartment. The controls on the fan are easy enough for my 10 year old to operate; air flow in, air flow out or a combo of both. I highly recommend this fan for small spaces and apartment living.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job for good value Bought this in the heat of the summer to use in the bedroom, had just what I needed (2 reversible independently controllable fan motors). The thermostat control turned out to be a nice feature also. One problem is that installing the fan vertically was difficult because there seems to be no way to lock the extendable spacers in place, so I had to rig something myself to hold it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and quiet too! I researched a lot of twin window fans before I decided on picking these up. I decided that it would be best to go with basic (forgoing the fancy ones with temperature or digital displays) because all we really need is to be able to draw air in/out. The price was right too. I installed them a few days ago in our bedroom as well as our toddler boys' bedroom. They work amazing! They aren't loud at all, and kind of act as a sound machine with a gentle humming. I checked on my boys about 2 hours after they went to bed and the room felt like there was a/c! It helps that the outside temperatures were cool, but I have no doubts it will work great in the evenings even when the temperatures are a little higher. Thinking about getting two additional ones for the first floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cools room fast This fan was super easy to install and as soon as it started cooling off outside I turned both fans on #3 and the room cooled off very fast! Easy to change direction and speed of fans. My only complaint is the spacers are not strong enough to support the weight of the fan. I need both spacers open fully and to stand on its side but the weight of the fan collapses the spacer. The fan still works great without having the window completely blocked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where is the quality? As a user of window fans for at least the last 15 years I can say that I'm surprised with the lack of quality in this product. Just looking at it you can tell its not a quality product. The motor looks cheap and the plastic too. Compared to an older model I still have kicking around this looks like it came out of "buck" store. Needless to say the one I got must have been a lemon. One motor makes a whining sound and in the world of motors that is not good. Initially they were both quiet but shortly thereafter one motor started making the noise. Too much noise to live with. This unit is going to be returned. Its a sad state of affairs when products like this actually hit the market.

The thermostat control at high level does it start the fan and then when the temperature drops it shuts it off by itself and cycles with the temperature

Asked by: Amid
Setting the thermostat at max level will make it work non stop. Chosing a lower level will shut it off when it'll get colder, but the temperature doesn't appear on the thermostat control button, so is it set to 20 / 22 / 24 degrees? There is no way of knowing... And still for the price it's a great product!

The height of the fan is 12.6 inch, and the height of the installed window is 11.8 inch. Can it be installed?

Asked by: zeke
Mine is exactly 11 3/4" top to bottom (11.75, so if your decimal measurement is exact it would fit - if yours is 11 13/16" i.e. 11.8"). There is a little narrowing of it, to make a flange both ends, which can project a half inch or so into the window opening if there's a channel in the window. So it could be you can tilt it into the window opening and into a channel and get it into something a tad narrower than 11 3/4".

Can I have this in the window and running while it's raining outside?

Asked by: Sebastian
I have left it in the window all summer long because the motor is not exposed, except for heavy rain (where I'm worried about the rain getting into the house) because the fan is open to the outdoors. But this is probably not recommended in the warranty because it is an electrical appliance. So do so at your own risk. It is easy to install and remove from the window. You can also use it indoors as a table fan.

Does it plug into the wall? Will it still work if it is not attached to the window?

Asked by: Alyssalatremouille04
It requires a wall outlet to work. It works whether or not it’s in a window. (It comes with removable feet that can sit on the long side to keep it standing horizontally.)
