Rated 1 out of 5 by from Motor (or squirrel cage) makes terrible noise. Agree with the previous reviews of this fan. Brand new installation, and the motor, or the squirrel cage plastic blades, make a grinding noise. I phoned customer service and they said "There is nothing available for this product. It's under warranty from the store". So I was going to purchase another one and swap out the motor, but as the other reviewer said, you cannot swap the motor from below. The whole unit has to be removed from the drywall. Garbage. Avoid and purchase a better name.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Output, poor mounting hardware I purchased this fan to replace a 70CFM unit that had failed. The mounting bars on the old unit spanned the floor joist gap on both sides making it very secure. This unit only had half a bracket on the outlet side which made it tricky placing this fan in the same place as the old one. I had to swap brackets around and modify their mount to get a snug fit. I also think placing the wiring on the outlet side of the fan is a poor practice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your time and money. The fan motor makes a vabration noise that is very annoying. Sounds like the motor is 20 years old. Of course I didn't know this until after installation. There's no way I'm ripping it out to return it after spending hours installing it. Save your time and money and buy a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Impressed I had this fan installed. It was louder than my 42 year old fan I took out which was likely 4.0 sones. This is supposed to be a 1.5 sone fan!!! Went with the electrician to Home Depot and looked at 6 baskets. All warped like mine was. Took the best of the worst but still loud. Not impressed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad idea to purchase the Hampton bay exhaust fans do not have removable motors.i installed one last week only to discover i had a faulty motor.the only way to fix it is to remove the drywall ceiling and remove the complete unit..it ended up costing me $300.00 out of my own pocket for drywall, plaster and painting..any other exhaust fan on the market is very easy to change the motor with out ripping a big hole in your ceiling if you have a problem.i will never buy a Hampton bay exhaust fan again as i am a bathroom installer and i install fans regularly ..warranties do not cover labor..it comes out of your pocket!!!
