Rated 2 out of 5 by from It’s ok A bit too thin same as regular garbage bag 2 mil I wax expecting 5 or 6 min but nothing in the description about thickness

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT Black More translucent grey - lets lots of light through. Useless for 'blackout' purposes. Garbage bags are blacker. Cheap product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Different lengths! I bought 2 rolls. To my surprise, they are of different lengths! As shown in the photo, the first roll is on the left side of my yard, the second roll is on the right side (plus about 2 ft from the first roll). The second roll is so much shorter than the first roll!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent I’m using this to cover off a big chunk of my yard to kill an invasive plant. The thickness was decent and so far it’s been holding up well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job in the garden Black plastic sheeting used to keep down weeds in my garden. Seems to do the trick. Fairly think holds up well to weather so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great strong product I used this poly to safely kill a large area of weeds in our yard. It has been spread and held down with rocks most of the summer and has withstood heat, rain and my 90 pound dog running on it. I'm very pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected As expected. I hope it will kill the grass that is currently under the sheet, will find out soon.

Is this product suitable for lining underneath a rooftop deck? I’m about to build one, replacing one that I’ve torn down and I discovered a great deal of dirt and mulch that had accumulated over the years which was very moist, laying on top of the roofing

Asked by: Deckdude
It would be best to use a quality roofing underlayment that is specifically designed to help prevent wind-driven rain from infiltrating under the roof's shingles and potentially damaging the home's structure and interior. These products are available at THD and speaking to an associate at the Prodesk for additional roofing advice would be my recommendation.

Who writes these confusing and useless product descriptions? Are the dimensions 10  x 100 ft = 1000 sq ft? That would make sense, but 10 x 1000 sq ft makes no sense. How thick is this film? And how can such basic info not be mentioned?

Asked by: Andy
This film is approx. 3 mil thick. The description should read 10' x 100' or 120" x 1200".

Can I use this to eradicate an invasive species of plant called “Japanese knotweed  “ this weed actually grows through regular white or blue tarp.  If not can you please tell me what I could use. Thank you

Asked by: Sandy
The Heavy Black plastic unfortunately will not eradicate this stubborn weed. I would suggest speaking to a garden center associate at the store for advice or perhaps contacting a landscape or horticultural specialist in your area about methods to remove this damaging invasive species from your property. If the Japanese knotweed is already able to grow through a woven tarp, the Heavy Black poly drop sheet will not be effective either.

Are these sheets lightproof?  Would they serve as tarps for light deprivation. If not, would doubling them up serve that same purpose? Would they also melt in the heat of the day. Black can get very hot on a summers day with no wind.

Asked by: Gale Gardener
The plastic sheeting is not lightproof but would serve to block or restrict sunlight from entering through windows or doors. Doubling up would certainly prevent even less light to travel into the building. The sunlight will not melt the plastic sheeting however, long term exposure to direct sunlight will eventually cause the plastic to become much weaker, brittle then begin to flake & crumble apart due to molecular breakdown.
