Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for shipping I bought 5 of these to move cities for school and they were beyond perfect. They’re very sturdy and a great size. The holes along the sides of the lid can be locked up with zip ties for shipping and they’re also obvs easy to spot. Also somehow the cheapest option I could find anywhere and way better quality than anything else. Easy stacking when empty. I told a buddy who was also moving about these and she bought like 15 for her bigger move - she also loves them. You won’t regret buying these. (The greyhound attendant did say plastic can be worse than cardboard during winter as it can snap and I moved in summer so I can’t attest to their strength in cold.)

Arriving at the store, only ⅓ of the boxes were available. The person in charge was extremely professional and was able to think outside the box. She offered acceptable alternatives. She remained calm and positive throughout the concerns. In these difficult days of Covid19 it was very refreshing to be able to work with someone smart and pragmatic. Wish I knew her name as I would recommend her for whatever award/recognition she deserves. Great positive experience.

I got complacent and over-filled one of the last boxes, and it broke at the bottom. It's sturdy and the cover locks into place, but just be careful not to overfill because you want whatever you're packing away/cleaning up to be done and over with because as sturdy as it is, it does have its limit!

What is the height of two of these boxes stacked? The lid is inset, so not just a doubling of the listed height. Thank you!

I would guess that yes they could. These bins have sturdy plastic walls. I didn't weigh any of my bins, used them for moving, packed them full, none broke...

Is there any lip or something in place to prevent water from getting into the bin through the holes? I want to use them to store books and other paper items, but need something kinda water tight, just in case the shed springs a leak.

This product is not considered «water tight». Although water infiltration would be at a minimum, it could still find its way.

I want to use these in my greenhouse: drill holes in the bottom for drainage, add small sticks for drainage in the bottom, add my soil & compost to near the top. Can they handle the weight & heat in the summer, and cold in winter?
