Sometimes I have to cut clay pipe, cast iron pipe, bricks, concrete etc. I had hoped that this universal blade would be the answer. While it does cut all those things it doesn’t do a great job at cutting any particular one of those things. The blade appears extremely well made and it seems like it would last a very very long time. I used it to cut materials dry in a chopsaw that is within the recommended maximum rotation speed. Perhaps it would work better on a gas saw that can run water. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I used this in a 14 inch 2 stroke rotary saw. The blade cut quickly and didn't gum up on the asphalt even when cutting dry. The concrete was easy to cut as well. It appears to be holding up well. Received this segmented diamond blade for review and was well pleased with the quality and performance of the blade. My primary use for this blade was used for cutting wall black. You definitely need to use a water spray on the block to cut down on the amount of dust it creates. The blade did an excellent job and would highly recommend it for the price. If you work in the trades at all, you know that HILTI is the name for professional tools and blades. The fact that you can now get this at Home Depot really simplifies the purchase! This blade is designed for us in a "hot saw" for cutting concrete and masonry. The thick diamond embedded disc make the cutting process a lot quicker. While it says it can be used on dry surfaces, I always recommend using water to cool the blade and keep dust down. Also note that you can cut up to 4.92" with a 14" blade. Hilti as always makes some of the best items in the business for cutting and drilling into concrete. this blade is awesome cuts through 4" of concrete easily. this one is a little thicker than one it replaced, does not seem to make a difference. maybe it will last longer ? and makes it not heat up as much ? i just appreciate how well its made and how easy it makes our jobs. the cost is worth the quality. now i need to pony up for a Hilti saw. since im tired of having mine worked on.     On the Hilti site, it mentions this diamond blade Model # 2117946 comes with an adapter for 20mm arbors, the HD site product detail does not mention this. Does it come with the 20mm arbor adapter?

    Hello DonMe, All gas saw blades come with a arbor ring that is standard 20mm and can be removed to allow 1”. Thank you!

    What is the RPM rating? Is this for metals, concrete?

    Hello EdMi, the blade you inquired about is for concrete or masonary material. It can cut through the rebar in the concrete when used with water. Hilti does make a 14" ductile blade which can be used to cut metal with a hand held gas saw and is available by special order only at your local store contractor service desk. The desk can call Hilti for the details. Thank you!
