Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pick Inexpensive but am happy with it. Ultimately the fancy ones don't wrap around to the edges of the window, to get that in a more "premium" look is big bucks. Haven't had any quality issues with the provided hardware.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Huge drawback Be careful. They claim they can extend to 48 inches, which is true, but there's nothing locking the extension in place and if you need it to go all the way to 48 inches, the rod sags at the connection point, catching your curtains whenever you draw them close or open. Don't buy these unless you're only extending to 30 inches or so. Or buy them longer.

How pick around is this rod (i.e. what size pocket would I need to leave in the curtain to slide over the rod)?

Asked by: CatharineB
Our pocket is about an inch and a quarter, flat. It is the fatter part of the rod that's got to be considered. It is not a smooth transition. I would suggest, if you wish to open your curtains with any degree of frequency, try to either have the rod fit without being extended or try to centre the extension point so your curtains can come together without having to be pulled from the smaller size of the rod over to the larger size of the rod. Perhaps a larger pocket and/or a good stiff curtain would prevent some of that catching.

If I use the screw that come with the rod, what plastic anchors will work with these screw to attach them to drywall?

Asked by: Camm
The screws are fairly small (#6 if I recall). The type of anchor will greatly depend on the type and weight of the curtains you're planning to hang on the rod. Full length panels will need an expanding anchor rated higher than if you're just hanging lightweight valance panels.

How do we install this? There were no instructions.

Asked by: Anonymous
Try using these steps for your installation. 1. Measure your window to see what size curtains you will need and where you will want the curtain rod mounted. 2. Mount the bracket for the double curtain rod using a power drill. Make sure that the placement is where you want it so that your curtains will hang correctly. If you are mounting the bracket in drywall, you may need to use anchors so that the weight of the curtains won't pull the bracket out. If you are mounting directly into a wood window frame you will not need them. 3. Using the smaller of the two rods, hang the sheers. You will hang the rod on the inside bracket. Using the larger of the two rods, hang the curtains. This rod will go on the outside bracket. Add tie backs if you'd like.
