Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad Advice The person who cut these blinds for me at Home Depot told me that I could shorten them by removing the horizontal blinds. She told me to look for a video by Home Depot on YouTube. Installation was easy, but when it came time to shorten them, that’s where the problem started. The video by Home Depot was for blinds that had the strings to open and close the blinds and not the cordless one that I had. It should be noted that Home Depot only sells cordless blinds. Yes it’s partially my fault for not correctly searching the correct product but the saleswoman did not warn me either about making sure I search for the correct blinds. The blinds are now useless as the strings that move the blinds up and down have fully retracted into the mechanism and cannot be repaired. I am now left with nothing, and put the money for the blinds. I will say that they looked nice once they were installed.

The price seemed reasonable. I can't comment on reliability since we've only had them up for a few months but I'd probably buy them again.

What is the depth of the window frame needed for inside mount?

Can these blinds be outside mounted as opposed to inside the frame? I do not have the depth on all windows to mount them inside the frame and want to mount outside on the wall over the window.
