Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value and Quality These blinds are by far the best valued day night blinds for the price. I’ve had 3 in my living room for a year and they have stood up beautifully. Quality is great. I purchased 4 more for bay window. A bit tricky to measure as the windowsills are at an angle. Had to go back and get them trimmed a bit more. Be sure when you measure to measure tight and they subtract an eighth of an inch on each side. Brackets are tricky to mount but are very sturdy

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality Purchased June 2018 and now the darkening side of the shade can’t be raised. The strings inside snapped or something so it just flops around. So now I can full sheer or keep it dark and can’t raise the blind at all. Says lifetime warranty we will see when I return it with a receipt tomorrow.. Seems quality is poor to fail so soon..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice blind, but not suitable for all windows I bought these blinds to try for my bedroom, after putting up the cordless top down button up ones from this company in other rooms. I don't like the paper feel of the blackout portion (hence four stars). Two drawbacks: 1. Installation isn't as easy as their other blinds, because the fasteners didn't have double sided tape to hold them in place while you place and drill (unlike the others I installed). 2. If you have a handle at the bottom with the lock in the side of an openable window, you cannot screw on the bottom mounts to hold them in place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chemical Smell! We bought these blinds for my baby girl’s room to help her sleep during her naps. The blackout feature works well. However, when they are hit by direct sunlight they give off a horrible off-gassing chemical smell. I have to open her window during her afternoon naps and then the blinds keep blowing from the wind and they don’t blackout the room well when they’re blowing around. Not to mention, they make a lot of noise when they’re being blown. I think these blinds will have to be returned because I don’t want my poor baby girl to get gassed every time she sleeps!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Look Beautiful. TERRIBLE chemical smell. I have replaced ALL of my home's blinds with these these about 3 years ago. The areas that are shaded and typically dont get hit with much sunlight "seem" to be fine. However, STILL after 3 years, the areas that get hit with direct sunlight (even in winter) produce an EXTREMELY STRONG offgassing odour. Unfortunately one of these rooms is my bedroom. It is so strong that I can't sleep through it. I have to jump up and open my windows to air it out. If I leave the house for a couple of hours without opening my windows in the summer, the chemical smell can be smelled downstairs. In my opinion, this just CANNOT be good for your health. I was hoping overtime the smell would go away - especially with daily airing out even in winter but it's not. I think I'm going to have to replace at least my bedroom coverings and 1 or 2 other rooms. I'm sure it's not good in the other rooms either the chemical odour is not obviously detectable. I will start replacing those over time. The other issue is that the caps keep falling off the edges. That's an easy fix but a repeated nuisance and the pull tab does not feel sturdy so I pull from the bottom bar, not the clear tab provided. These are lovely to look at and filter or block out light as stated but you will have to decide for yourself if you can get past the odour if you have hot/sunny rooms. These are not cheap blinds either. I'm disappointed I'm going to have to start replacing them. One room alone has 5 window coverings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent blinds that can blackout or sheer We have been intrigued by cellular blinds for many years now and don't have much experience with them so we had some key questions that have now been answered after purchasing 3 of these to cover our living room window. 2 x 27" and 1 x 60". If you are considering cellular shades, stop tossing over sheer or blackout and just get this one because it does both! 1. The fabric looks like paper so how durable is it? It is not paper but a type of soft polyester fabric (blackout) and mesh/net (sheer) and feels tough. Even splashing water on it will not damage it (may stain though). 2. Is it really cordless? No, the cords are inside just like mini blinds but you can touch them because they are separated by the fabric. Not sure how they work but probably in a loop as you push up and pull down. You can only see the cords through the sheer portion of the shade. 3. Is it durable? Only time will tell if the cords will become uneven or snap but so far first day of use, they feel very smooth to operate and I think they should be no worst than mini blinds as far as reliability goes because there is less strain (weight) on the cords but when they become uneven, not sure how to adjust it because you cannot access the cords. One of the 27 inch one is already uneven upon installation. The instruction sheet says they warrant against defects as long as you own your home so I guest that means lifetime? These are made in China for HomeDepot by a company called Niem Made Enterprises, a Taiwanese company that has been around since 1974, public traded and has a 1800 phone number for North American customers. So I would hazard to say that good chance they will look after you if the product does fail. 4. Easy to install? Yes, if you take the time to measure twice and drill once and ensure the screw has proper footing so they don't become loose. For the larger width that comes with 3 bracket, you will have to make sure all 3 align or you may have trouble clicking the top rail in. I suspect the review complained about this did not align the brackets. The 60 inch one came with larger brackets are are easier to click in than the 27 inch ones. The not so good: 1. The clear plastic handle for moving the sheer portion up and down could be better. It is hard to slide in place and feels like it can snap overtime. 2. The bottom part (blackout) could use a tab like the sheer portion. 3. The instructions for 27 inch says to remove the inserts from inside the rails before installing the end caps but the 60 inch instructions skips this step entirely. I removed them from one of the 27 only but completely confused as to why because you don't have to! 4. One of the 27 inch is uneven and will have to bring it back to exchange! I hope this helps someone out. Would have been 5 stars if not for the NOT SO GOODS above.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are really great !! This is my project house. Most of the work is done by me... (some by the wife,,, just do not get a small woman on a rebar bender). We put them in the rental unit. They work great. Finishing the main unit and starting to install these as I finish my project. During thee day when only the top is up, they break any visual into the unit. At night they are nicely slide up to prevent any visual at all into the living area. And they really block the daylight if you want to sleep late. I consider 7am is sleeping in, my wife can sleep till 9.

Is it possible to make these shorter? I need 72 inch w by 40 inch length. Thank you!

    Asked by: Symon
The length can not be shortened. If the fabric is cut it will ruin the mechanism of the shade.

Interested in this product; however, I was wondering how do you clean and maintain this product from dust and dirt.  Also, what is the longevity of the product.  Thank you.

    Asked by: Elle
Thank you for your question. The best way to clean cellular shades is by using the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or dirt. You can also blot clean the shades with a damp cloth.Make sure to no get the shade too wet or you may ruin the shades.

The description says 68"x48", the specs say assembled width is 61"..? What is the max. width of window this shade can accommodate? Also, is there 48" of blackout coverage, or only 24 (half blackout and half filter?)?

    Asked by: MegVP
I can confirm that the total maximum length could be nearly 96" if you fully extend both the sheer and blackout so that you have 48 top half light coming through and bottom 48 half black out (if you want to). This means you can have any combination of sheer/blackout each up to about 48 inches. Just so you know, the 48 inch length actually can cover a 50 inch length window either in sheer or blackout. For any window that is 30 or larger in length (it takes 5 inches on top when fully retracted), this dual sheer/blackout feature is awesome. Only time will tell if the mechanism or fabric will last, otherwise, this is a great shade.

Can I mount these on the side of the interior window frame? There is a semi circle window at the top. I want it to fit inside the frame for the lower rectangular part of the window. It's all one piece.

    Asked by: MarcM
CustomerCare's answer is incorrect! I just bought two 27" and one 60" and they both come with brackets that can be mounted either inside (top) of window frame or outside on the wall but you may need to make sure the side has solid wood or much longer screws to go through drywall and reach a wood stud otherwise the brackets will loosen overtime (even with drywall plugs). Note that the 27 (harder to click in place) and 60 (easier to click in place but leaves a bigger gap on top) have different brackets but both do work.

Can you surface mount these blinds?

    Asked by: Nancy
Thank you for your question. The shades come with top mounting brackets. The brackets allow you to mount the shades on the ceiling or in window frame.

What is the maximum that these can be narrowed by?

    Asked by: CinC
By using a 30" W shade, the maximum the shade can be cut is 3" (1.5" on each side).
