Rated 5 out of 5 by from So pretty and more durable than it looks The acacia wood is so dramatic. I was super skeptical about engineered hardwood and the veneer being only 2mm but it actually stands up to things I thought would scratch it for sure. It was easy to install with the click system. Anyone even partially handy with a table and miter saw can do it. The tricky part was it only has 4 assorted lengths so it made trying to vary the lengths for proper overlap difficult to avoid stair stepping and "H" patterns in the wood for a strong interlocked floor but we got it done. 5 assorted lengths would have been perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from False advertising The Measurments displayed on the box show board lengths are 6.5” by 47” long, when in fact each box has only 1-3 boards per box that length. The rest are as short as 16”. The boards displayed in the flooring dept are also 47”. It’s false advertising. Would not have purchased had the manufacturer and Homedepot properly/lawfully disclosed contents. Have filed a complaint and have heard nothing back after 2 1/2 weeks. Poor form Depot. These kind of tactics are why contractors & trades people shop elesewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to lay - and re-lay Very easy install and looks good. Massively impressed after our basement flooded - lifted the boards, numbered them, dried them out and relaid them (with new cork underlay). They all went back together perfectly despite the complex shape (flooding went through several rooms).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase, I would buy it again! I am very happy with this purchase! The colors and the tones are beautiful and the floor is very easy to install, no experience required, just follow the instructions on the box. If you lay out the row, you can combine the different sizes to avoid the "stair steps". Quality is good, no problems at all and the floor looks excellent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another box of Acacia another room complete We picked this flooring almost 3 years ago and have been using it throughout our home as we renovate. We are almost complete with only a closet left. I was disappointed to see it not available instore, but happy to see it online, albeit a $30 price increase per box. We find install easy and durability pretty good too. I recommend this flooring, the colour and movement in pattern is beautiful.

would this be suitable as a kitchen floor? i am planning to use this throughout all common areas in my home with the kitchen and dining area included.

Asked by: Hello
It can be installed in a kitchen setting. Please keep in mind that kitchens generally have multiple sources of water, so be mindful to wipe up spills and splashes, water and all wood construction hardwood floors are not an ideal mix. PDNA Customer Service Team

Is this flooring suitable for a kitchen?

Asked by: crusherman
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the product can be installed in a kitchen setting, providing the flooring is installed up to the counters/islands or any other fixed vertical objects (nothing should be permanently installed on top of or through the floating engineered hardwood floor). Also, due to the proximity of water sources, you need to take into consideration the risk of damage to the wood floor from unattended spills or plumbing leaks. PDNA Customer Service Team

The widths of the planks do not click well together.  If one plank is stepped on  and the seam floats.  How can I solve this problem if nails cannot be used?  Thank you.

Asked by: Ariel
Use a scrap piece of wood to protect the flooring and tap the edge of the plank to tighten up the joint. Do the same on the end. I use this technique with this flooring and have not seen a single separation.

can the floor be nailed down ?

Asked by: Paul T
No. It is meant to move with expansion and contraction, hence the term floating floor.

The planks displayed in the store are at least twice if not more darker thank the planks from the box. Is this acacia so sensitive to UV light? Really, I am just coming from Waterloo North store. The displayed planks are dark brown.

Asked by: Gabriela
Should be noted that our flooring was the wide planks (6 1/4) that were offered instore in 2017 and were replaced with the narrower version 5in version. Not sure if you've bought more than one box or what the 'lot' number is, but they can vary with each 'lot' number, and isn't that the beauty of the acacia flooring? We did our house over 2 years, renovating as we went, and doing the floor. The first batch for 800 sq ft had a bit more red in the flow, and the finish was more satin. The next batch we got 1 year later was a bit more brown but still tied into the transitions in the door way. The last batch had a more matte finish and so we just made sure to weave the planks in with the previous batch and it's only me that notices it, since we did it ourselves. We get compliments from visitors all the time and have no regrets with this floor choice. It's bold and makes a statement.

Is there a trick to installing this?  I am trying but the end joints keep popping off when I try to click the long sides in, and then everything shifts out.  I can’t get even the first two rows started before it all falls apart!  Is there a video?

Asked by: Lkelly123
I installed 500 sq feet last fall no problem. Lay the next board out about half an inch from the already placed board. Click the tongue of the long side into the groove and lay it down flat. Then for good measure I give the fresh board a good pound against the floor with the palm of my hand (you should hear a tiny click when the board is secure). Then take your hardwood mallot and strike the short side carefully towards the previously locked board. Continue on carefully one piece at a time and you shouldn't have any issues.

Can I store this flooring in a shed with no heat until ready to install?

Asked by: gord
No, it needs to acclimatize to the house or area where it is being used. Take it inside, open one end of each of the boxes and let it sit for 4 to 5 days before installation.
