Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another box of Acacia another room complete We picked this flooring almost 3 years ago and have been using it throughout our home as we renovate. We are almost complete with only a closet left. I was disappointed to see it not available instore, but happy to see it online, albeit a $30 price increase per box. We find install easy and durability pretty good too. I recommend this flooring, the colour and movement in pattern is beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to lay - and re-lay Very easy install and looks good. Massively impressed after our basement flooded - lifted the boards, numbered them, dried them out and relaid them (with new cork underlay). They all went back together perfectly despite the complex shape (flooding went through several rooms).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Floor amortization Color was as shown, but the texture / planks are “wavy” surface is not even, knots have deep cavities: my worry - the floor washing will be not only nightmare but also will leave moisture in cavities and eventually will destroy flooring itself . Have concerns.

Is this flooring suitable for a kitchen?

Asked by: crusherman
I put this flooring in my kitchen over 2 years ago and it is very durable. That being said, it is wood so it dents if you drop a heavy pan.

Does this product require an additional underlay if it is laid on a concrete sub-floor with in-floor heat (not in the basement, all above grade)? If so, what is the finished depth?

Asked by: Jay22
Thanks for your inquiry. If installed as a floating floor, you always need an underlay between the floor and the surface of the subfloor. The product is 12mm thick, so you can just add the thickness of the underlay you decide to use to get your total thickness. Any installation over a concrete subfloor requires the use of an underlay with an integrated vapor barrier (6mil poly or equivalent). For the thickness of the underlay, we recommend no more than a 3mm maximum thickness with low compressibility. It is also recommended to verify that the underlay selected is compatible with in-floor heating systems (most are, but we recommend verifying regardless). PDNA Customer Service Team

Is there a trick to installing this?  I am trying but the end joints keep popping off when I try to click the long sides in, and then everything shifts out.  I can’t get even the first two rows started before it all falls apart!  Is there a video?

Asked by: Lkelly123
I installed 500 sq feet last fall no problem. Lay the next board out about half an inch from the already placed board. Click the tongue of the long side into the groove and lay it down flat. Then for good measure I give the fresh board a good pound against the floor with the palm of my hand (you should hear a tiny click when the board is secure). Then take your hardwood mallot and strike the short side carefully towards the previously locked board. Continue on carefully one piece at a time and you shouldn't have any issues.

can i install this in a basement on subfloor and how long can i leave this in boxes in my basement before laying it

Asked by: jay01
Dear Jay, Yes, you can install this flooring in a basement over a subfloor, but you would need to use and underlay with an integrated vapor barrier (6mil poly or equivalent). If you wish to store the wood in the basement, keep it off of the floor and assure that the humidity levels are in the 35% to 50% range during the acclimation time (you may need to use a dehumidifier in the summer months). In these conditions you can keep it there as long as required.. PDNA Customer Service Team

Can I store this flooring in a shed with no heat until ready to install?

Asked by: gord
No, it needs to acclimatize to the house or area where it is being used. Take it inside, open one end of each of the boxes and let it sit for 4 to 5 days before installation.

Can this be glued down?It is going in a basement with in floor heating

Asked by: Dion
It can, but you would need to use a flooring adhesive with an integrated vapour barrier or install as a "double glue down", gluing down a vaporizer barrier and then gluing the flooring on top. You will also need to respect the humidity requirements (per the installation instructions) to asssure the floor does not dry out during the heating season.
