The light shade leaves a beautiful pattern on the ceiling but when you turn on the fan the pattern is disturbed causing a strobe like effect. I am going to give it a week to see if I can get used to it or may need to return.

Also the single light is bright enough to light up the room significantly...maybe a bit too bright on the brightest setting. The reason for 3 stars is three fold: The fan creaks on the highest setting but eventually settles down; the speed of the fan between the highest and middle setting is miles apart - it almost feels like the middle setting should be the lowest setting; the fan is not 100% responsive if you click through the fan settings too quickly.

Will this work on a vaulted ceiling?

Hi, When I turn it on, does it go to a default setting each time (i.e fan level 3 and light on), or to the previous used setting? Example: if I turn it on and set the fan to level 1 with no light, will it go to this setting each time I turn it on/off?

Is there a way to get the light to turn off and on with a regular light switch or can it only work with the remote?

Thank you for your question. The fan's light wire can be connected to a switch, bypassing the receiver. To do so, you will need to cut the fan's blue wire from the fan's wire harness plug. This will allow youth connect the light wire to the switch wire. Please note that this will omit light control from the remote control. We would recommend connecting the receiver's power wire to the switch wire (standard on/off switch only) if you wold like to use the switch to turn the fan and light on/off while still retaining complete control via the remote.

If the issue persists, please make sure that all parts are properly installed and completely tightened - including the outlet box. Most noise issues can be attributed to loose parts that can cause vibration and present a humming noise.
