Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Flooring I purchased this product because I loved the colour and design. I did my kitchen and family room and it looks amazing. I am so happy with it, I am considering caring throughout my entire main floor. I do have to say that I purchased the product online and they advertised 3 day shipping but it actually takes 10 days to arrive, which was a disappointment. The person on the phone when I called to inquire about delivery was very rude and not helpful at all, this was a little frustrating. After all is said and done though I am happy with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stands up to a lot, great looking, best floor Bought this flooring for my kitchen and living room and installed it all myself (a small frame female). You do need a saw, but can get away with a hand held jig saw. This flooring hold up to my dogs and my husband!!! The colour variation is great, but make sure that you like that if you buy this floor. This flooring is great for high traffic areas that are at risk of being scratched to dented. The main reason that I wanted to write this post is because of the piece of cut flooring that I found under my deck that has been exposed to rain and snow for 3 months. The piece has never little warp and expansion. I was shocked. This flooring also has waxed edges whites helps with water absorption when put down. Overall, it is the best flooring that I have ever had. I will buy it again if I redo another home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice flooring I had tried a laminate from HD. It was for a cottage and was relatively inexpensive but installing!!! What a nightmare. Install first row then assemble second row and insert into first. What a farce. This was a lot more expensive but it went down easily - click, click, click. Did 250 sq ft first weekend and will buy another 400 sq ft. We like the look but that's a taste thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value - So Easy to Instal Over all a great product - DIY instal (with power tools and some knowledge) The flooring comes in 4 different length planks but not all boxes contain the same number of each and not all boxes contain contain all four sizes It does give you the impression that you’re short of one size I used a box at a time and made them fit - this way the pattern format is avoided I laid 24 boxes (just over 600sq feet) took two days and waste was minimal

This was my first time with engineered flooring, which was chosen because we have a basement with a slab. Used a thermal/soundproofing underlayment and the result is very nice, quiet and warm. Installs easily and firmly, very clean and tight joints. I would have preferred solid hardwood flooring, but that wasn't possible so this will work just fine. Recommended if you want to use engineered flooring at a reasonable price point.

is the core wood or MDF?

Can this flooring be used over a hydronic infloor heating system?

@Linda loo Have you had a lot of foot traffic? Do you have dogs? We installed this in the upstairs hall and bedrooms and I absolutely love it! Looking to install on the main floor but was wondering how it wears?

@Fred We too have 2 90lb dogs. They have definitely scratched the floors but with the flooring being hand scrapped it doesn't show like it would on regular hardwood floors. Any marks that have been deep I have just touched up with stain that I had made to match. I'm not sure if there is a hardwood made to take dogs out there! I do love the look of the floors and the price point is awesome!

I purchased Stair Nose (SKU 1000818414) for Home Decorators Collection Smoked Hickory 4 7/8-inch W Click Engineered Hardwood Flooring. I need to do some touch ups and want to know what stain was used?

Hello Dennis,&nbsp; I didn't use a stain to fill my nail holes. I used a black paint pen. You have to wipe off the excess paint very quick so it doesn't mark the surface face of the stair nose. I hope this helps.&nbsp;

Can this be used with True Comfort radiant floor heating? I just need to pass the coil through the hallway where this will be installed to connect the living room and bathroom where true comfort will be used under tile.

According to the True Comfort website, their in floor heating systems are only compatible with ceramic and natural stone floor coverings. The Smoked Hickory engineered floor is a wood based platform, so they are not compatible. PDNA Customer Service Team

Recommended to install a sub layer. Did any of you do this or not? Not sure it is necessary with a good solid plywood already in place - as well as the thickness of this product... Thoughts, experience?

An additional subfloor is not necessary provided that the sub floor already meets the NWFA standards. Summarized on page 2 of the instruction sheet for subfloor requirements.
