Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Great trimmer for the price. Light, easy to start, easy to feed new string, couldnt ask for more really. Just make sure you mix the oil and gas to the proper ratio. One 100mm 2 stroke bottle of oil to 5 L of gas and good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better Than I Thought I was pleasantly surprised on how easy assembly went and how easy it was to start up the first time. As my lot is nearly a third of an acre I was expecting to have to use the bump feed but the stranded cord was still intact after 20 minutes of use. Definitely a good buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok, but for how long I bought one of these trimmers 3 years ago. The first year was just great. Once I learned how it 'wanted' to be started we were off to the races. The second year, it started ok, but didn't like running as it should; it only would run properly on 1/2 choke. This year, I fired it up and it would run on full choke, but not on 1/2 or no choke. I rebuilt the carb, checked the plug, used fresh gas, added some seafoam, but it's still not running properly. I'll buy another carb kit and see if that will help, but I have my doubts. If I can get it running again, great. If not, well it's not expensive and can be replaced quite easily. Some things I do like - easy to add new string, easy string deployment, works extremely well even on half throttle clearing up to 6" grass. Not a noisy machine unless you rev the snot out of it. Overall - it outlasted my previous machine. I'd buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not so easy to start, with many pulls,it does. Generally ok, but no easy to start, it needs many pulls and whips wont feed on its own.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to start plus It always takes multiple attempts to get this started. Also I find it to be quite heavy. I dont find it to be tte best at chopping through the weeds at s low level. But still less annoying than an electric one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One season use Against my better judgement I got this unit on sale - didn't have high expectations... and as I thought... it was broken by end of season. Lower spool head got so hot from spinning that the unit ceased... replacement parts for lower shaft and string head are worth more than the machine. Spend a little extra and get a good one.

I have some very bad luck with Edgers and trimmers with the String getting tangled and stuck. I was wondering how much better would the Homelite Gas Trimmer be?

    Asked by: Ash Chaube
I bought this trimmer to replace my well used and worn gas trimmer, as well as my cordless electric trimmer. All I can say is what a fantastic trimmer!! By far out performs more expensive trimmers. And is lightweight and powerful. Nothing but good things to say about this unit, works so well my father tried it, and went and bought 1 too.
