Hello. My electric baseboard thermostat turns the heater only at 25 degrees. I tried to replace the thermostat but it does the same. Is it normal or there will be another issue.

Asked by: bob38
Ensure that you have wired the thermostat correctly. It's unlikely to be another issue, as the baseboard wiring is a very simple circuit. For a 4-wire Thermostat: If it is a 4-wire thermostat the wires from "L1" and "L2" should be connected to the two wires that connect to the main power which are usually a black/white or red/white or black/red pair. When the wires are disconnected you can separate the wires and then temporarily turn the circuit breaker back on and use a meter to check for 240V. The pair of wires that show 240V will be from the main power. These are the ones to connect to the L1 and L2 labelled on the thermostat. Remember to turn the circuit breaker off again before connecting them. The "T1" and "T2" wires on the thermostat connect to the two wires that go to the baseboard. These will be the ones that didn't have main power on them. For a 2-wire Thermostat: If it is a 2-wire thermostat, one of the two wires from the baseboard (usually the white one) connects directly to one of the two wires from the main power (can be black, red, or white one). If one of the main power wires is a white one, then connect the baseboard white wire directly to this one. Connect the other baseboard wire to the "Tx" thermostat wire and the other power wire to the "Lx" thermostat wire.

Does this thermostat break both poles or just one when temperature is reached?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello! The Honeywell Electric Baseboard Thermostat does offer two models. One of which will break on both lines and the other will break on positive off. The CT410B will break on both, and the CT410A will break on positive. I hope this helps. Thank you.

WHEN THERMOSTAT REACHES A CERTAIN TEMP DOES IT SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY OR DOES IT CONTINUE RUNNING?

Asked by: Anonymous
Once the desired temp is reached the thermostat will turn off/on as needed to maintain that temp

How is this model different from the 2-wire model?

Does the 4-wire model control both heating and cooling simultaneously without any manual switching, whereas the 2-wire model can only control only heating OR cooling?
Asked by: kmart
Hello These thermostats are for use with baseboard heating. The first thing that you should check is the number of wires that you currently have and that will determine which unit you can use and also confirm that you are connecting these to a baseboard unit. The 4 wire model can only be used if you have 4 wires and the difference between the two is that the 4 wire allows for a positive off, meaning that the baseboard will be turned off completely. With the 2 wire thermostat you can not turn the heat off completely, it will be set to the min point. I hope that helps. If you still have questions please call technical support at 1-800-468-1502
