Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well but packaging is misleading I purchased this for a 240 fan forced heater. No problems thus far as the packaging says 120/240v on it. BUT, I suspect that for cost-cutting reasons, the marketing geniuses at Honeywell decided to use the same packaging for the ct410a and ct410b. The former has 1 pole and the other has 2. Guess where it says that on the package? Absolutely nowhere. And, they block the rear of the packaging with useless foam, so you can't even check before opening the package. Not putting yourself in the customer's shoes seems to be more and more common, as evidenced by the extremely helpful instructions. I already know how to install one, but for someone who is more of a novice? Next time, I'll do more research on my own before getting to the store. But I will try to find a different company's products, just because this type of thing really irritates me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Specs This is not a "close on rise" switch thermostat. despite the fact it says it can do heat and cooling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honeywell temperature controlled stray cat shelter Thanks to this inexpensive efficient Honeywell thermostat and 100 watt light bulb, Sneaker's (stray cat) outdoor shelter remains at a constant 15 degrees C during the cold winter months. Plenty of food and water but misses human contact. Ongoing project is to find him a loving home.

I bought 3 of these each for separate rooms to heat electric baseboard heaters. Replacing old existing ones, 2 work perfectly, the last one only seems to stay on ultra high heat and will not cool down or stop heating the room. Suggestions?

Asked by: Scott
Hi Scott, thanks for reaching out to us. We recommend to verify the power that the thermostat is receiving. A power variation may cause this behavior. This model works with 22A at 120/208/240Vac (non-inductive resistive rating) or 19A at 277Vac (non-inductive resistive rating). Please, feel free contact us at 1-800-468-1502 if additional questions or concerns arise. We'll be glad to help you.

Does this thermostat turn off completly or does it start heater at 5 degrees

Asked by: Doug
Hi there, thanks for your question. The Honeywell Home 2-Wire Electric Baseboard Heat Thermostat does not have an Off mode. It uses a SPST relay to turn your heat on as the temperature falls. The lowest temperature setting for this model is 4 C; if you have your heat at the lowest setting of 4 C, then it will need to fall below 4 degrees to turn your heat on. If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-468-1502 and we'll be happy to help!

I got 3 - CT410A1001 thermostats to replace old programmable ones. I was told at the store that they worked with line voltage AND low voltage systems. I can't get the new one to work. I called an electrician he said no way. Who is right?

Asked by: perplexed
Hello perplexed! The Honeywell Manual 2-Wire Electric Baseboard Heat Thermostat will only work with line voltage control of a radiant cable, electric baseboard and resistive rated fan forced heaters. This thermostat will not work with a low voltage heating or cooling system. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you.

Four pole thermostat

Ordered and installed the four wire version of this thermostat as we have two baseboard heaters on one control. Now no matter where you set this one one the dial it will cut out at 60 and not go any higher. replaced the old one because it would not cut out anymore.

Off switch?

Does this thermostat turn off or is it like the old units that will always go on no matter how far you turn it counter clockwise.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, the Honeywell Electric Baseboard Thermostat does not have an option to turn the system off. This is a line voltage thermostat that is designed to work with electric heating systems such as a baseboard heater, a convector or a fan-forced heater.
