Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent programmable touchscreen at great price Got this at an awesome clearance price. At my HD store there was a mix of 2012 & 2014 stock. Check the copyright year and pick the newer box, as that will have newer software and potentially less wifi setup headaches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Pros: Convenient to use. Has good interface and a great app. Works really well. I did not have C-wire running but the installation videos were easy to follow for a workaround. Cons: This unit does not accept special characters in WiFi password. Took me 1 hour to try to connect before the spoke with Tech Support who informed me of it. Should have been in the user manual

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great thermostat! I bought this 5 years back and installed it myself in our new home. It is working great since then. The features and programming through Wi-Fi are easy to use. Since I have a small dog at home, I have to run the A/C and heat during the day all time but I also run fans in the rooms to better distribute the air and I am happy with the result. I love the feature that I can change the temp and settings on the go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up; great remote features. I replaced a Hydro One Peak-Saver thermostat with this one so it was able to use the same Honeywell wall plate that saved any wiring issues. The Wi-Fi setup and online registration took around 10 minutes. It works perfectly and can be controlled from a Web browser or from my iPhone. A great feature for this vacation property is the email notification for low temperature. Only downside is the lack of a "Circulate" fan setting to keep the air moving while I am away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WiFi Problems This product would not connect to Wi-Fi. I was able to ad-hoc in without a problem, select available network and it prompts for network password but always times out trying to make the connection. I disconnected it from the base for 10 seconds retried, rebooted the router and even removed the encryption entirely but still no connection. After contacting tech support they told me to exchange it at the store. I did that but had the exact results. I did notice that the exchange unit was previously opened. Contacted tech support again this time they put me through to Honeywell's tech support and it was escalated to a senior support specialist. At the end of that they said the router was not compatible. I purchased a new router but had the same results. I even tried a 3 router. I decided to purchase a different model and it connected instantly! When I went to return it to the store they asked if I was the one that just called about exchanging one of these units(it was not me). In summery they clearly have not developed this product properly, continue to resell open or returned units on the shelf and have not educated the tech support department of the magnitude of the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Product! Installation was a snap! Found instructions to be very thorough. The remote adjustment and system alarms sent to a smartphone are just plain cool. Being a single person it just adds some nice assurance while away from home. Just installed a day ago, but couldn't be more pleased, everything worked as indicated. I could potentially see a problem if a persons IP address does not remain static, maybe then you could lose connection, but that is just a guess and there may be a work around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome piece of technology I've had this thermostat installed for about 1/2 year now and it's amazing. Installation was quite simple even though my original thermostat did not have a "C" wire going to it. After some research online I found out how to do that - not at all complicated. Beyond that it's been great. The Wifi functionality has not failed me once... it connects to the router and stays connected. A few times Honeywell's web service has been down which keeps the remote app from working but it's generally up again quickly. I'd say that's happened maybe 5 times in the past 6 months. In all, an excellent product and the ability to change the house temp, even change from heating to A/C from anywhere (from inside the house to outside the country) is just incredibly useful. Money very well spent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WIFI Doesn't work The WIFI connection did not work at all and that is the only reason for buying this model.

Does this thermostat support a heat pump with auxilary heat

Heat pump needs Y Yellow for compressor B/O (Blue for reversing valve) W2 (White for Auxilary heat) G (Green for Fan), and E (for emergency) As well as R (Red 24VAC Hot) and C (Black common 24VAC) Looks to me that this Thermostat is the same as HydroOne Peaksaver Plus. The PeakSaver Plus program did not cover Heat Pumps, I don't know why because a heat pump is the same as central airconditioning.
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, Function 17 section 7 in the settings menu.

Are you able to access this via the internet?

Can you view the details of your thermostat from outside your home network? Or can you configure this to work outside your network via router settings?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yep, from anywhere in the world for that matter. I've made changes to my home thermostat from the car using my cell phone, from work, name it. No need for any special router configuration either.

What is the "C" wire?

Asked by: Anonymous
It's the 24V Common wire coming from the furnace. Your thermostat may not have that wire running to it but the furnace should have a terminal for it. It may be labelled "C", "COM", "COM 24V", etc. If you have a spare wire in the wire bundle running to your furnace you may be able to use that, otherwise you may need to run a new wire.
