Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Designed and Very Effective No doubt, my view is biased because this product is ideal for my particular needs, but in the spirit of lauding a job well done, I'm endorsing this exceptional product from Hoover. I was unimpressed with competitors' "bells and whistles" and cheap-looking, flashy plastic components for ridiculously high prices. My needs in a vacuum were demanding: simple, strong, well-designed and diminutive. This vacuum is ideal. Clearly, a lot of careful, thoughtful design went into developing this vacuum. It is stripped of the nonsense and extra weight, it's compact, powerful and streamlined, and the dust trap is ingeniously designed and intuitive. I hope this vacuum lasts a long time, because I love it. Kuddos to Hover!

The old electric brooms that I used for many years don't seem to be made any more. They were perfect for my tile floor, but my last one finally gave out. This new version isn't as convenient. The movable head (nozzle) is a little hard to control, and the head is too large to fit in small corners. It does have suction, but not as strong as the old electric broom version. I didn't like that I had to assemble it first (the old ones came all put together), and I couldn't get the final long screw into its hole--had to get help with that. I'm sorry whoever it was decided not to make the old version any more, but this will do if there isn't any choice.

I just wanted something simple and cheap that would do the job without losing power. Hence, I purchased the corded version. I was blown away and I mean blown away by its performance. For half the price of the competitors I found a gem. It picks up cat hair, gardening dirt, sand, and the leftover messes from weekends after our fraternity loving sons decide to spend their time wreaking havoc. It's the one product that can keep up and do it well. We now have three. One for our main home as well, and have since gifted each of our children with one. I can't imagine my mid-week without mine. A Must Have for any Clean-Conscious Person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT STICK VAC! I purchased the Hoover Cyclonic stick vac mainly to do a quick pick up of my Golden Retriever's dog hair and her "cookie" crumbs in my living room. I also run it through the kitchen & laundry room on the vinyl floor. It works great rather than pulling out my large vac every day. I've had it for 3 months now and liked it so well that I purchased another one for my back room. The vac is pretty quiet, roller brush is excellent, good suction, long cord, and lightweight to use. You can see through the dust cup and know when it is full...easy to empty. Any parts, if needed, are readily available on the Hoover site. I keep the vac in a corner, plugged in and ready to go. I would highly recommend this vac....especially for those with pets. NOTE: Some of the long dog hair does get wound a bit around the roller but is easy to pull off. So far this has not caused any problems. Thank You Hoover!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase ever I bought this stick vacuum several months ago after the one I had (another brand) broke.  I just love it and use it all the time.  I had previously purchased a larger vacuum at more than double the price thinking that this stick vac would be just used for quick pick-ups, but this is the one I always use.  No need to drag out the other one.  I use it not only on tile floors but also carpeting.  Great suction, light weight and easy to empty.  Love it.

With two dogs who are heavy shedders and some back issues, I needed a vacuum that picked up well and was considerably lighter than our standard upright. This one did the trick. We have retired our old vacuum and use this one entirely. After using it for the past two months I would highly recommend it. It works fantastic on hard surfaces, area rugs, and accent rugs. One of the features that I like is that gathers all the dirt and hair in a compartment and by just touching the closure it dumps its content. There are no fabric filters that the dog hair sticks to like other stick vacuums we have used. Other reviews talked about the vacuum clogging occasionally with pet hair, we have had no problem and as I said before our dogs are heavy shedders. If I had one suggestion to the company it would be to have a longer cord.

I've always had cordless stick vacs for their convenience but finally got tired of keeping the batteries charged and the expensive batteries always going bad after a few years. I found this one online, and my daughters got it for me for Christmas. It's the perfect vac for me---good for my laminate kitchen & entry floors, my bathrooms, and my carpeted rooms. Very easy to maneuver, lightweight so I can carry it, and it does a great cleaning job. I have a Hoover Windtunnel, but I imagine this one will get used most of the time.

The place I took it for servicing for years told me to buy a Hoover, as they were one of the few reliable vacuums on the market. I opted for this one because it was light enough to carry upstairs, didn't need to be recharged, and it could be used on both carpets and hardwood floors. It works incredibly well for a small machine and I like that the canister can be emptied, which means I don't have to buy vacuum bags. I am very happy with my purchase! Great product, great price.

Does the Hoover Corded Stick Vac (model #SH20030) work as well as the Hoover Cordless Stick (model #BH-500 10k)?

not for me. the cordless one did not pick up as well as the corded one i just bought. plus the cord is realy long. this one i can go right from the tile floor to a throw rug and it picks up everything on both. plus it's easy to empty. would reccommend this to anyone.

Are all the filters washable?

Yes and I love it as I have a little corgi that really sheds badly and this small easy to maneuver does wonderful on both my tile, wood and carpet floors that it takes me no time to run it through my whole house floors and then have to empty the dirt out because it picks up everything so good. I just wash the one easy to clean foam filter each time to keep it like new with just a. Little soap on it and run water over both sides and squeeze out a excess water and put it away. I absolutely love my little stick sweeper and use it every few days to very fast run it over all my floors and I even run it over the tile floors in bathrooms also. Would purchase this again.
