I bought this earlier this summer when my older dogs were having pet accidents and because of COVID restrictions, we couldn't rent a carpet cleaner. Boy, am I glad I found this instead! It is compact and perfect for our 1600 sq ft condo. It's lightweight, easy to use and gets the stains out! The only downside is the clean up of the machine. Despite vacuuming prior to use, there is a lot of embedded dog hair in a carpet and this machine finds them all. Therefore I have to unscrew the bottom plate to remove the roller brush to clean the intake area thoroughly and then reattach. Otherwise it's perfect and I'm happy with the purchase.

To begin, this is packaged really well for transit and is encased to lessen the possibility of damage. The instructions are clear on how to use the vacuum and what pieces go where.. however.. The functionality is just alright. The water would squirt and we would pull the vacuum back over it , but there would still be a dirt spot. It's almost as though the floor scrubbers just barely graze the floor, which is a huge bummer. I have plans to try to lower the scrubbers but wanted to provide my review pre-Frankenstein'ing the device.

We own and operate a carpet cleaning service . ...! This POWERDASH is soooo easy to operate.. Fill solution bottle with HOTTEST water you have, add cleaning agent. Any high end liquid laundry detergent will do. Just a small amount..! Work slowly... Make several passes wet, then several passes dry. Be gentle but firm with this machine.. 600 sq. ft. per hour. If your rugs are filthy, call a professional, then maintain rugs monthly with this POWERDASH.. P.S. you will fill and empty clean water and soiled water every 15-20 minutes, so get over it... Respectfully.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would not buy this product again. I had a Hoover Floor mate for years and couldn't say enough about it's performance. But, as anything else, eventually it needed to be retired. Could not find another locally, purchased a PowerDash, am very disappointed with it's performance. First had issues with the sprayer not spraying, worked that out. But, it seems that the outer brushes scrub the floor, the inner brushes don't even touch the floor. I can go over the floor with a mop and bucket and can pick up more dirt after washing with the PowerDash. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Water Release Design [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product on 11/3/2020. Since day one it has not released enough water. This problem became progressively worse over time. Today it would not release any water. I took the machine apart to do a root cause analysis (I'm a product design engineer). I determined that the water release trigger on the handle does not open the water release valve enough to let the water through the valve. The trigger only opens the plunger in the water release valve about 1/8". It needs to open about 3/8" to let the water run freely. There is no adjustment for the this, therefore the machine cannot be fixed. I had to throw it out.

I have owned less expensive Hoover floor cleaners, so I was very excited to purchase a supposedly top of the line cleaners. Needless to say I was disappointed. The cheaper models left the floor pretty much dry after one sweep of the suction mode. Not this model, maybe I got one made on an off day, but it picks up not half as much as the cheaper models. I could feel the suction on the less expensive models but not this one. I am not even sure it is scrubbing like the cheaper models. It looks nice, I just wish it would clean as good as it looks. With that said, I really can't recommend this product. Go with the less expensive models.

This is specifically madefor hardwood floors and tile. It is not made for carpet cleaning. So yeah of course the motors and stuff is gonna burn out. Reason being is your using it wrong and its going to run hot and burn out cause its not intended to be used for carpets. Just cant stand people always complaining and casting fault to someone other then taking a step back an realizing oh this is my fault. To many people think they are always right even if for a fact theyre wrong. Thankyou an have a good day!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wouldn't buy again! I have dogs and this machine is just not robust enough for multiple dogs. The minute I started using it I knew it would spend most of its time in the closet. It's to light weight the suction is not strong enough the solution doesn't come out evenly across the spray head. With the weak suction you get a lot of wet on the floor! Very disappointed but waited too long to return. Not to just fault Hoover but I truly believe they and all the manufacturers just stick Pet on these machines to make you think they are robust cleaners when they are not.

Yes. Black and Decker has designed a sensor which increases and decreases power to the vacuum when going from hard floor to carpet. When cleaning an area rug find the way the grain of the rug goes and go with the grain. Much easier to use and surface dirt comes up more easily. Our old, tank type vac now sits in the closet as the B&D stick vacuum does the job and is more convenient to use. Battery lasts 15-20 minutes.

Be sure you have both the clean water tank and the dirty water tank securely snapped in. Spray clean water moving the machine forward. Moving the machine backwards picks up the dirty water which goes into the dirty tank.
