Rated 5 out of 5 by from Test before using. In/lb review. I normally use a 1/2 inch drive (lb/ft) click torque wrench of another brand and you can hear and feel the click when you hit the right torque. With this 1/4 inch (in/lb) wrench, it is very subtle. Put a bolt in a vise and try the wrench on multiple settings from low to high torque and see how it feels. I’m glad I did. It’s not the kind of wrench to use when you’re not paying attention. With that said I am pleased with this wrench and would buy again. Bought it while rebuilding a Chevy transmission.

The HD description includes the line "3.3 - 16.7 in. lbs. click style torque wrench". This should read "3.3 - 16.7 ft. lbs. click style torque wrench," correct? And what is the calibration accuracy in the bottom 20% of the range?

Correct, ft lbs. Top 20%.

This might be a stupid question, but the bar says in-lb (inches - pounds). But how do you know which one its doing?

Asked by: Robert
Inch-pounds and foot-pounds are both measures of torque put on a bolt or machine screw when you screw them in, so the tool actually measures that so you don't over or under torque them.

I see markings on this lower than 40 in-lbs. Can it be used accurately to the 30 in-lb range? Also, should long term storage be at 40 in-lbs or lower? Thanks!
Asked by: JW
I believe it will be accurate down to 30 in.-lb. I just checked mine and it will dial safetly down to 22in.-lb. It is good practice to store a torque wrench at the lowerst setting. I store mine at 30.

can you use this to torque lug nuts?

Asked by: RAFAEL
No, this unit measures in inch-pounds. You would need a unit that measures in foot-pounds. Probably between 50 and 100 foot-pounds, depending on the manufacturer’s specification for the vehicle,
