I normally use a 1/2 inch drive (lb/ft) click torque wrench of another brand and you can hear and feel the click when you hit the right torque. With this 1/4 inch (in/lb) wrench, it is very subtle. Put a bolt in a vise and try the wrench on multiple settings from low to high torque and see how it feels. I’m glad I did. It’s not the kind of wrench to use when you’re not paying attention. With that said I am pleased with this wrench and would buy again. Bought it while rebuilding a Chevy transmission.

This might be a stupid question, but the bar says in-lb (inches - pounds). But how do you know which one its doing?

Inch-pounds and foot-pounds are both measures of torque put on a bolt or machine screw when you screw them in, so the tool actually measures that so you don't over or under torque them.

I believe it will be accurate down to 30 in.-lb. I just checked mine and it will dial safetly down to 22in.-lb. It is good practice to store a torque wrench at the lowerst setting. I store mine at 30.

No, this unit measures in inch-pounds. You would need a unit that measures in foot-pounds. Probably between 50 and 100 foot-pounds, depending on the manufacturer’s specification for the vehicle,
