I purchased these because they were half the price of the Channellock and Milwaukee versions, but I returned them the next day. Given all of the positive reviews, I must have received a bad pair. The ones I bought could barely open 3/4" at the tip of the jaws, and would then get stuck. I could use both hands to force them open slightly further, but then it took two hands to close them again. Apparently poor quality control. I have other Husky products from Home Depot that are great, but this was the first Husky tool that was a disappointment. I decided to invest a few dollars more and order the Channellock 6 and 8 inch long nose pliers instead.

They seem sturdy enough, but they don't open very wide and the action is quite stiff. They don't have a spring to help them open, as expected. I'm used to being able to hold my long nose pliers in one hand and open and close them easily. I've found that I can't do that with these pliers as easily as I could with my old black-handled Craftsman pliers, unfortunately. I really wanted these to be awesome, but for me they are not.

Good quality tool, didn't deflect when I twisted heavy wire at the very end of the jaws. Wire cutters are sharp and cut 1/8" mild steel wire quite easily. Cushion grip on handles is quite comfortable.

The needle nose pliers are great at gripping and cutting however the handles feel a bit awkward to me. They are thick and a bit stiff. I am still using them and expect them to wear in soon. They are best suited for maintenance and mechanic work. They aren't agile enough for electronics and electrical cold work. Overall they work well and would likely be ok with most people's grip.

But I was unable to find the same model to replace them after I made the mistake of touching a live wire which took off the end of my Craftsman pliers.

Silly question: Origin of tool?

Are these Husky tools made in the good old U.S. of A. or overseas?
