Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not suited for Saskatchewan winters It claims to be "flexible to -40", but it's not. It's pretty rigid in normal winter weather. If you use it for your block heater, it's going to stay kinky all winter. The light at the end is convenient -- it tells you it's connect, and it helps plugging in in the dark. However, it only tells you if the plug is live. It does not tell you if there is actually current flowing, so if there is problem with your block heater inside your car, you will be none the wiser.

Description is saying it's flexible to -40C, which is not true, it's not flexible when warm, when it's -10C it's scary to bend. Plug is semitransparent and has a pilot light, which is good. It has 3 receptacles, I use only one, had to tape other two so that snow / rain doesn't get inside (it's designed for outdoor use, should have some kind of covers).

What "a lit banana plug serves as a power indicator" means?

Banana plug I'm pretty sure just means it holds the plug together, which is good because if you are cutting something, you don't want your power to just cut out, lit up means that when there is power being transferred/there is a current a small light will turn on and light up the plug (this is really helpful, I have 5 or 6 of this kind of plug)

Advisable to be used in indoors during the winter as the cord will become brittle in extreme cold.
