Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy fix for the sticky button Even though there are reviews mentioning the sticky button, in my case the sticky button caused the faucet to drip a little, but I have managed to fix it in a simple way. See the attached pictures for more details. In nutshell: take apart the faucet starting with the small screws and plastic spacer. Keep in mind that the button does not have any spring inside, so the solution is to tighten a little bit the inner metal cylinder (assume the main valve) with the little thread (less than a full round). It is marked with red on one of the pictures. Assemble the faucet and check if the button sticks or the faucet leaks. If not, you are ready.

We bought this push button model because we liked the sleek simplicity and small stature of the faucet. Paid to have it professionally installed. After about two months of very limited use the push button began to stick and we couldn't easily unstick it to stop the hot water from flowing. We kept fighting with it for months hoping it would gradually get better because we didn't want to pay a professional again to come uninstall it. Unfortunately, it got worse and so we just finally stopped using it altogether. Now we're stuck with a sink fixture that doesn't work and never really worked in the beginning. I can't recommend this InSinkErator product to anyone. I will try a different brand this next time and hope those other manufacturers stand behind their product.

We purchased this, to replace an Insinkerator that was 6 years old, on January 27, 2018. When we renovated our kitchen years ago, we put one in, and it has been a great convenience. As of this week, (May 14, 2018) the button sticks and there's no way to get it to release. We had to get a screwdriver to pry it up in order to release it. It has only a one year warranty. This tells you what the company thinks of its product. The design is also flawed. When installed, you have to reach around the top of the unit to operate the button. The faucet does not swivel. This is not something I could recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 4th Hot Water Dispenser in 16 Years This is the fourth hot water dispenser we have purchased in the past 16 years. The last one has been inoperative for about 5 years. We decided to replace it when we replaced the R/O system under the sink. The instant hot water is nice for my 1 cup of instant coffee a day and for a Cup-O-Soup a few times a year. I don't know if all the instant hot water systems are prone to failure or I am just lucky. I had real problems with the "recommend to a friend" option in the review, Yes, if you want instant hot water these things are great; if you expect a life equivalent to a home water heater, dishwasher, range, etc.. you will be disappointed.

The first one lasted 4 months before it failed - no hot water. The second one has also failed - the push button would stick and leave the hot water running. While waiting for warranty repair (now almost a month, but they are finally due tomorrow), we had to turn off the water supply as the faucet started to randomly come on by itself, and then finally became impossible to shut off. This is a very poorly made product. To my advantage, it fails so quickly it is still under warranty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design Defect - Stuck Button We had our previous insinkerator for 12 years. It had a nickel finish and handle activator. Eventually the tank need replacing so I bought this unit. I had it professionally installed. From the first week we had issues with the button sticking. It continues to do this almost daily and if left unchecked will quickly drain our RO tank dry. To un-stick we have to wedge a butter knife against the edge of the button and try to pry it up. As an engineer I'm shocked that this ever left the prototype stage. It could probably be solved with a stronger spring and better sealing system around the button. Or a handle!!! So now we have a nice looking but un-useable insta hot. If that's what you want go for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Improved product I was not too excited about having to replace another of the old style instant hot water heater. When I found out they were no longer available and that the least expensive of the new style was about $100 more I was even less excited. However this is a much improved product in many ways. Time will tell how long it will last but it produces a lot more hot water and the design seems to allow for expansion which I suspect was the reason the old style attached tank would fail so quickly. My only complaint is that the top tube does not swivel so it doesn't appear you can switch the button to the other side or swivel out of the way. Maybe it does but I didn't want to break it by trying.

Installation was as easy as predicted, and operation has been uninterrupted since. My one beef is a marketing issue. This purchase was to replace the prior tank, that I also installed with the predicted ease and that gave me reliable service for as long as I have a right to expect, but there was no need to replace the tap portion of the set up. However, I was not able to purchase just a replacement tank, I had to purchase both a new tank and a new tap. I do not know how much of the new purchase price is allocated to the tank and how much to the tap, but in either event, the total is not insubstantial, and I would have appreciated the opportunity to save the latter.

I have a 6 year old system that leaks. Tank model SST. The ports look identical. Can I purchase a Hot100 and use the new tank with my existing faucet?
Asked by: Marc
Hi Marc! I'm sorry to hear about the leak. Yes, the SST tank has the same port as the Hot100 tank. Feel free to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com should you have any further questions.

Does this dispense hot and cold water or hot water only? If both how do you select cold or hot water with only 1 button

Asked by: joe
Hot water only for this H-HOT 100 model. Unfortunately the push button started sticking on ours within the first few weeks and gradually got worse within a few months. Hot water continually flows and we can't shut it off unless we climb under our sink to shut it off. Other buyers have complained of the same flaw. We regret purchasing from InSinkErator. Now we're stuck using the microwave to heat our water. You may want to look elsewhere.

Will this work off a GFCI outlet without popping it?

Asked by: Jj
Hi Jj! Yes, it will work with the GFCI outlet as long as will meet the electrical requirements, which you can find on the specifications - https://bit.ly/2zeNAiP. The plug must be connected to an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded.

Is this unit complete and ready to install??? How many amps??
Asked by: JC
The write-up mentions a 750w heating element, at the rated voltage of 120v it should draw 6.25amps, at 110v it will draw around 6.8amps. You will likely find this will work well on a non-dedicated circuit unless you have multiple other appliances connected which load the circuit heavily and are used at the same time. ( it uses around 1/3 to 1/2 of your typical circuit capacity and uses it SOME of the time). -Scott

Hot water dispenses when, and as long as, the push button is pressed. Dispensing stops when the button is released.

Hi, Are there frequent problems with the dispensing button getting stuck? Should I consider this before purchasing. Should we select the 150 for this reason. I prefer the HOT100 in nickel, but don't want future problems. Thank you.
Asked by: Barbara
I've replaced two faucets so far and the third beginning to fail as well. I read somewhere that they increased the warranty 3 years because of the issue. Doesn't fix the problem though.
