Acacia solid hardwood countertops are harvested from sustainable, renewal plantations. They are naturally water resistant and are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. It is important to note that acacia should be conditioned with wood oils that are food safe for wood preparation areas. For the first month, the conditioning oil should be applied weekly so that any water left standing on the surface just bubbles up. Once that has been achieved then it's just a matter of re-applying the conditioning oil annually to maintain the wood surface for a lifetime of use. The 72" x 25" x 1" size is standard counter depth, so it will fit on top of standard kitchen cabinets. Acacia can be cut, drilled, and routed easily with standard woodworking tools so that it is possible to fit them to any countertop or island top configuration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful countertop I've only given this 4 stars as the colour is so different to the actual product but it honestly is lovely. It is lighter and has slight grey white tones in the wood. I've added pics as this might help. In the photos I have treated the top once with a solid beeswax polish that I make myself. It gives a lovely slight sheen but isnt sticky. I'm using this top in an office setting as a desk top. The colour is a light wood colour not a white wood. Photos were taken under artificial light conditions in the evening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty counter top This countertop is very pretty. It looked a bit more white in the pictures than it is but is still a very nice complement to my dark grey cabinets. We were able to cut it ourselves but it is very hard so you have to super slow. I love the end result and just gave 4 stars instead of 5 since the colour in the pics online was a bit off and I still had to add a coat of oil before installing, from the description of the product it sounded like it was already treated and totally ready to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this countertop The colour has a nice warm undertone to it. If you’re looking for grey this isn’t the countertop for you, but I think it would pair nicely with grey. The quality is fantastic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wood countertop It is a nice colour and sturdy wood. The grey colour of the glue used in the in between to hold the pieces together is not very attractive in some of the larger areas. Other than that straight and good thickness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase ! Nice finish, not as light as the picture may elude too but still looks great . Used it as a laundry room counter top. Very easy to install. Fits in a mid size suv without any issues .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but scant information As expected, nice finish. End grain not as strong/hard as a maple or birch piece and will not hold screws well. Information on surface treatment scarce to nonexistent. Will it take varathane well for a 'hard' finished counter top ? So far it has endured use over built in dishwasher.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not white, but nice nonetheless Purchased the "organic white" but the thing was not white at all but very, very brown. Not even a hint of white. But other than the misleading colour description the countertop itself is decent. I'm using it as a desktop and it was easy to add legs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy Product chipped when cut, it is not waterproof or dent proof at all. Returned two of three countertops. No happy waste of money.

What kind of oil should I apply to this countertop ? The attached sheet says to apply "lavishly" before final installtion but no specification.

Asked by: Bill
I used Watco butcher block oil. Probably did about 4-5 coats to be on the safe side. Lavishly meaning a generous amount. The first couple of coats soaked into the wood.  Last few coats were the ones to build a protective layer on top of the wood.  A little does go a long way when your using the Watco brand, because it does spread out well. Hope this helps.

Can you drill into this wood? I want to build my own computer desk and drill screws for metal legs into this counter top. Thanks!

Asked by: Anonymous
It is a hardwood. I drilled holes for two #8 by 1" screws (with several washers, so that they only went in about 3/4 of an inch) into the bottom of the counter top. Had no problems with it.

What are some good options to use to refinish it - to get a lighter grey or whitewashed look?

Asked by: Shay
Do not recommend this product it yellowed very quickly and was very bubbly during the application process the color was nice but the finish was not good and I ended up sanding it all off and it never really dried my countertop remained sticky feeling

Could I cut and use this as a bathroom vanity counter and 3" backsplash? I assume so if it's kitchen grade but wanted to confirm.

Asked by: Nicup27
Hi Nicup27. thank you for the question. Yes you can make a vanity counter out of this. You must make sure you seal all 6 sides and any edges you cut into it with 2-3 more coats. We have a great video at www.woodkitchencountertops.com, this will give you instruction on installation and maintenance.
