Rated 2 out of 5 by from Painful delivery time Product is fine but delivery is terrible even with covid in mind. How a product can go across Canada in 6 days and take another 8days (and counting) to travel 3hours is beyond me.

can I use the clear wood oil sealant right away without sanding?

Asked by: Anonymous
We didn't sand before sealing.

Can this wood be sanded since it is oiled? I would like to glue two pieces together and sand to hide the seam. Also, is the live edge on both sides or only one?

Asked by: M_A_C
You can sand the oiled acacia countertop. The live edge is only on one side.

do I have to sand it between coats?

Asked by: Anonymous
Normally a light sanding with 300 grit sandpaper is a good idea between coats of sealant. Remember to remove sawdust with a clean moist tack cloth before applying a new coat.

Do I need to do any finishing to this countertop at time of installation and what is the best way to keep it conditioned?

Asked by: Sass
Yes, you have to finish this countertop by applying three coats of a natural wood oil such as Interbuild's hardwax clear wood oil.

Are there anymore pictures of this slab in place? It's sometimes hard to view the colour/tone properly with real photos.

Hi Ryan, there is a lifestyle photo available now for you to view. Hope that helps!

Can this be stained upon purchase or does it need to be sanded prior.

Asked by: Jay838
The acacia panels are stained at the factory but require finishing coats of clear wood oil sealant prior to installation. We recommend three coats of a clear wood oil sealant in order to provide a surface water barrier and to protect the surface against incidental scratches. We recommend a light sanding with 150 grit sandpaper followed by 400 grit sandpaper for a glass-smooth finish between coats fo clear wood oil. We recommend use of Interbuild's food-safe VOC-free clear wood oil that is available to purchase on Home Depot.ca.
