Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low quality material, bad finish. I ordered this based off of the pictures expecting fairly clean grain, but the board I got is very knotty. There are sanding swirls throughout and lots of wood filler has been used. The finish is very coarse and rough to touch, fairly dull. This will definitely require more finishing to look decent. Disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for DIY desks I am very happy with the product I received. No scratches, cracks, or dents, and I didn't feel any need to sand or add another layer of finish. It looks beautiful. Some have described the surface as rough, but it's nice if you're going for a rustic look and feel. The panel did end up warping a little when we added some metal desk legs, but that was 100% user error: the mounting panels on the legs themselves were not perfectly level. I would have given the panel five stars if it had been slightly thicker (say an inch thick). 0.71" is fine for a shelf, but you want something a little more robust for a desk. All in all, good product that I would definitely purchase again. I hope Interbuild considers producing a slightly thicker panel in future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dirty wood, knot in wood all the way through The product would have been perfect if it didn't have two problems. First, dirt and debris had made their way into the plastic wrapping which made the surface dirty by dust and a sticky black substance. Second, there was a knot on the surface which had a crack all the way to the other side. I covered one side with oil for my project and a few hours later it had leaked to the other side. It ruined my project. The crack in the knot is not visible and it is not sealed. If I had not cut it to size I would have returned it. However, I do recommend the product if you are dealt a good hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Acacia Project Panels Almost completed my HiFi credenza using Interbuild’s Golden Teak Acacia project boards. I just need to stain the legs to match, and paint the two shelves and the door in Tangerine Orange and I think it will have a nice mid-century modern feel. These wood panels are a delight to work with and the finished result looks amazing! I highly recommend this stuff and I look forward to using it again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the quality I paid for I bought these project panels to save the time of having to laminate and stain some boards in my basement. They arrived quick but were warped more than a curve on a hockey stick and the boards were separating and chipped in spots. Had I have known the craftsmanship was so poor wouldn't have spent the money on them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but... It’s a good product but watch out what side you have showing. I used mine as a breakfast bar and after I installed I noticed round circles from the sander they used. It is pronounced by the staining. Looks like a bunch of coffee cup rings everywhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Makes a lovely breakfast bar top but drank a surprising amount of oil. Gorgeous though..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent quality for the price I bought this project panel to turn into a small desk and shelves. I unpacked the item and immediately noticed a few flaws in the product; a crack, a clearly visible brush stroke, and some chips (see attached photos). Nonetheless, it was a decent piece for the price, but I had to deal with a few imperfections.

Can this panel be cut?

Asked by: MarL
Hi MarL, Thank you for the question. Yes, this panel is 100% acacia hardwood. You must also seal it with 2-3 more coats of hardwax oil. We have a great video at www.woodkitchencountertops.com Linda McKinley Interbuild Customer Service 506-688-3478 llinda.mckinley@interbuild.eu.

I want to make an office desk with this board, using hairpin table legs. Is it possible? And do I need to put some coating/oil over it? Thanks

Asked by: Himanshu
Hi Himanshu. Thank you for the question. All our products are 100% Acacia hardwood. All our panels need to be sealed. We recommend an Interbuild Hardwax Oil which we sell through Home Depot. I think a hairpin table leg would be very nice. Linda McKinley Interbuild Customer Service 506-688-3478 linda.mckinley@interbuild.eu.

What is the weight limit  for the 20x 48 shelf? Thank you

Asked by: Paula
I found this on the web about Acacia wood... "The Janka Hardness rating for Babul Acacia is 2300 pounds of force. It is 55% harder than European White Oak, 23% harder than hickory, and 90% harder than carbonized bamboo. Its density is measured to be 62 pounds per cubic foot. This places Babul between oak (45 lbs/cubic foot) and marble (80lbs/cubic foot)."

Can these panels be cut? I understand the cut edge would be plain, but would the board remain intact and strong?

Asked by: mtighe
Hi M Tighe. Than you for the question. All our panels are 100% acacia hardwood panels. Yes, they can be customized to your needs. All our panels need to be sealed on all 6 sides as well as in every edge you cut. We have applied one coat of sealant only they still 2-3 more coats to complete the seal. We have a great video on installation and maintenance at www.woodkitchencountertops.com. Linda McKinley Interbuild Distribution Customer Service 506-688-3478 linda.mckinley@interbuild.eu

Can you tell me if the acacia panels can be sanded and restained?

Asked by: Cairn
We sanded and oiled ours but there’s no reason why you couldn’t stain it first. We really liked this product

If I get this shipped to my local Home Depot Store can the store cut it to size for me ? I would want the 20x96x0.71 cut in half lengthwise (to get two 10x96x0.71) and I don't have the proper tools at home to do the job. Thanks -

Although I did none of these, it can definitely be sanded, and I believe stained and cut as well. You can contact manufacturer at https://www.interbuild.eu/pro.php
