Rated 5 out of 5 by from farm use I used these to feed my meat birds; I drilled 2 inch holes on the top consecutively about every 4 inches and capped at both ends. 100 birds can drink at the same time. Worked great.

Hi, I was wondering if this is unplasticized PVC (uPVC)? I am searching for 4-inch uPVC and was hoping you could provide me with information on which product to purchase. Thank you.

Asked by: Bernie
Hello and thank you for the question. Yes this pipe and the IPEX fittings for this pipe we sell at Home Depot are "Rigid PVC", this is the north American term for "uPVC".

This is sewer pipe but is it ok to use for potable water? I am looking for a 4in water pipe if this is not safe can you give me the info to track one down.

Asked by: Antacid
Hello and thank you for the question. No Sewer pipe is not approved for potable water. If you go to any Home Depot store and go to the Pro desk you can ask them to get a quote on 4" Schedule 40 Pressure pipe. They are available in 10' lengths. Ask them to get a quote from IPEX. That request will come to me.

Does this pipe have end caps? What is the Home Depot part number for it please?

Asked by: Anna
Hello and thank you for the question. The pipe does not come with caps, the cap for the pipe is part number 1000119257 4" PVC Cap. Note that the pipe is bell end, which means you can connect pipes together with out couplings. To install a cap on each end of the pipe the bell end portion would need to be cut off. approx. 8" to 12" of pipe.

What is the maximum depth this pipe can be burried?

Asked by: CustomerA
Hello and thank you for the question. Burying pipe can be a complex question. For example under the proper soil choice, trench design and maintaining a deflection no more than 7.5%, pipe can be buried 15 meters or 49.2ft. If you have more specifics I maybe able to help with more information or you could go to our website at www.ipexna.com and search for sewer pipe installation guide and go to page 41 for the depth of cover chart.
