Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't be fooled by the description "faux wood" Don't be fooled by the description "faux wood beam". These are actual knotty pine planks that are kiln dried to strengthen and stiffen the lumber. Along with being real lumber comes with the real lumber imperfections. A few of my planks were in rough shape and needs to be sanded and glued. I will be using this as a faux beam shelf under a wall mounted TV. I will be using all 4 pieces and will also add support inside the beam. As this is real number you can stain and varnish the planks which I will be doing. There are so many different uses of these planks that it makes for very fun projects. You can use them for basement post covers, accent walls, faux beams, shelves, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for faux posts or accent walls! I recently used the IRVING 6-inch x 6-inch x 6 ft. Knotty Pine Faux Wood Beam (4-pack) to cover an existing post in my basement. I like that it is real wood, with varying texture and grain showing through which you expect to see with knotty pine… it definitely creates the appearance of a wood post. I originally wanted to paint it but the unfinished wood actually adds some warmth to my space which I really enjoy. They can also be stained so that’s another option if we decide to change up the look down the road. The boards are packaged well and were so easy to install. The individual pieces were straight, no warping or bowing, and are sanded quite well. They have a tongue and groove system that allow them to fit together flush. Since they are multipurpose and fairly lightweight, I think we will do an accent wall in my basement next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DIY approved! Really easy to work with, they can be used to wrap posts in a basement, I really wish it would come in 8' planks. A bit difficult to join the 6' piece with another foot and half, but I did manage to get it to the almost 8'. I staggered my joints so it all would be one piece, and not have a common joint around the entire box . Use lots of wood glue, it helps fill in the mitered corners once installed then a quick sanding and it finished perfectly. The boards were pretty straight had a few boards that warped but again with glue and the brad nailer you can work it in to fit it together nicely. Really nicely manufactured. Paint, stain or clear coat either way the finish comes out nicely. It can be used for a accent wall as well, fitting together perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Installation and Looks Great! When I received the faux wood beams, they were nicely packaged in boxes and light enough to move and store until installation. When unboxed, the faux beams were in good condition, and the quality of the soft knotty pine was as expected. Installation was hassle-free. The beams were easily cut with a mitre saw and attached to an existing header with 18ga brad nails. The tongue and groove construction seamlessly transitioned between each beam and provided a clean look. The beams were very light in colour, but depending on your preference, stain or paint would darken the look. Overall, I would recommend this product to someone looking for a wood beam look without the expense of premium lumber.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble faux beam! Really easy to work with, we put these faux beams on the ceiling in a hallway. Added a touch of flare in an area that is usually not looked at. Stained with a light natural colour to help give some contrast to the white above. I would recommend these to anyone looking to add some character to any living space. You can use any stain or colour on them. Assembly is really easy with the routed inner edges which means you can add some glue and press the pieces together and they line up really nicely. We also tacked a few brad nails to help keep it together and then just patched the holes with some wood filler. After a light sanding the stain took really well. We did 3 light coats of stain and then a clear seal coat. As you can see it gave a modern beach house look with the light stain we used. You can also use them for columns since they come with 4 pieces. Everyone loves the look of these beams!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super easy to use kit This is a great kit to take out the questionable seams between planks, and for providing a clean, true and easy corner. Each board has a different edge which allows for either a ninety degree connection for beams and boxing in posts or a flat one hundred eighty degree connection for an accent wall connection or any flat application. The wood is straight and true, which in itself is impressive. Goes together super easy, would recommend for amateur diy.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to do an accent wall you can paint it stain it white wash it and so much more just watch out for slippers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great faux posts and beams Many people these days want to add the look of posts and beams to rooms that don’t currently have that look. If you’re looking to add this style to your home this is a great easy kit for the homeowner to do. Each box comes with 4 pieces which is enough to build one post or beam. The boards are grooved so they easily slot into each other and make a strong connection. I would recommend wood glue and then Brad nails to hold the boards together. Also the ends are notched so you can connect beams or posts together for a longer or taller room. What is also great is you can use the boards as just boards and do a wood wall or feature wall. You can then stain the boards any colour you like and seal them up. This product couldn’t be easier and I totally recommend it to any homeowner.
