Overview

Model # WSP-500 Store SKU # 1001487650

The WSP spin down sediment filter is the first line of defense to your appliances. It protects and extends the life of your standard filters by removing the large dirt, sand, and rust particles before they reach the rest of your plumbing system, including expensive appliances. It comes with a variety of options in micron sizes. Smaller microns allow less through, but to get most life and efficiency out of your filters it's important to only go as small as you need. The WSP-500 is ideal for filtering out course sediment larger than 500 micron. The stainless steel screen makes the flushing and cleaning process very simple, allowing flushing of the contaminants through the bottom of the filter when the cartridge begins to get clogged. This allows the cartridge to be reused without needing to be replaced. The 1 inch outlet MNPT fitting provides a maximum 20 GPM flow rate, and also features 3/4 inch NPT threads on the inlet and outlet. The housing is made of FDA approved grade materials.

  1. High impact stainless steel mesh filter screen rated at 500 Micron
  1. Ideal first layer of filtration before a larger filtration system
  1. Flushable and reusable, takes considerable workload off finer filters that follow behind it helps create a multi-layer gradient filtration system for better filtration results and longer filter life
  1. See through housing offers easy visual monitoring stainless steel body with 1-year warranty
  1. Double threads on both ends: 1 inch mnpt and 3/4 inch fnpt, flush out valve has garden hose barb fitting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome add-on (I have the 200 micron size) Had some idiot contractors leave a hose on and run my well dry. Pump pulled up a lot of sludge and this thing caught it all, or at least most of it. Eventually it mostly plugged up on its own and even stopped the hose from running wide open. The downstream filters are pretty darn clean and after a quick flush the water's running in the house again. My pump's life is probably shortened a little, but this gadget couldn't help me there. Or maybe it did... Once this thing clogged it kept the hose from running wide open which probably reduced the amount the pump had to work. So double win.

Although the product appears to be very good build quality it does not stop the black sediment in our well water from passing through it. Originally I purchased at 100-Micron ISPRING filter and it was clogging up every 12-24 hours and had to be back washed. I called the ISPRING support line and they said I needed a 500-Micron filter. So I bought this one. Now it only catches about 25-30% of the black sediment, the rest passes through and gets caught by my 5-micron whole house filter. As you can see in the photo, about 25% of the black sediment is in the ISPRING filter and 70% is in the bottom of the whole house filter.

Can I mount it sideways on a garden water line? It will be in a in-ground plumbing box protected from freezing.
Asked by: Arius
Hi Arius, We do not recommend installing outdoors as this would void your warranty. Also we recommend installing horizontal to ensure that the system does not leak or break. Thank you, iSpring Water Systems LLC
