Rated 3 out of 5 by from Colour changed after grout I used these recently in a shower project and I loved the colour and shape of the pebbles. I followed advice and sealed them until water beaded off of them and then used epoxy grout to place them. They turned a horrible brownish and some pinkish colour as though wet and have not dried back to their beautiful grey colour!!!! I am not very happy. Sadly it changed the entire look of the project and now the tones in the tiles do not match the grout or other tiles we chose. Very sad about this but it seems there is nothing I can do now. I may try buffing them with high 400-600 grit sanding disk but not sure if this will work.

We have an all white bathroom and this was the only accent colour stone aside from some Gray grout that we chose to use in the shower. We purchased the stones as the base for the shower and upon applying DeLorean gray grout they completely changed colour and stained up! They look horrendous They look dirty and brown and patchy. From what I’ve read there’s nothing we can do this has completely ruined our entire $20,000 bathroom reno!!! Absolutely disgusted with this crappy product do not purchase it you will regret it.

I seen reveiws saying it changes color after installed but we did not find that. The color seemed to stay the same and if it changes it got more vibrant. I am VERY satisfied in this product.

I used 'bright white' grout. I don't recommend using a dark grout. I got great help throughout this small project from Home Depot staff, in the Tile Dept. PS. I bought extra sheets so I could swap out the darkest stones for lighter ones, on all the sheets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Non-slip Choice for a Shower Floor I recently bought these to tile a floor and to provide and accent stripe in a shower expansion in our ensuite. The fact that the pebbles have a slightly rough/porous surface makes them an appropriate choice for the floor; they greatly reduce the chance of slipping in the shower. The sheets are shaped/contoured in a way which is supposed to minimize unsightly straight line seams; however, in practical terms, these contours don't fit together all that precisely, so expect to do some single stone insertions to hide the seams more effectively. In fact, I would highly recommend buying a few extra sheets to provide you with "patching" material. On a positive note, the stones are flattened to a fairly consistent thickness, which makes grouting much simpler than with rounded pebbles. The marble is quite soft, so the stones also cut easily either with a tile saw (cutting the sheet) or a tile nipper (for individual stones). Given the porosity of the marble, I would highly recommend sealing the stones with two or three coats of sealant *before* installation to make simplify cleanup of thinset and grout. This is natural stone, so expect some colour variation from one box to the next; I would recommend mixing up your selection as you tile to avoid a sudden change in colour part way through a project.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from River rocks don't mesh together Although this looks nice as a base in my shower, the tiles do not mesh together during installation. As a result, some stones are very close together while others have a big gap. My contractor had to remove large stones and place 2 smaller stones so that the gap would be smaller. You could actually see each square of tiles when he installed them because the stones do not fit together as normal tiles do. If I had the choice again I would not purchase these and would opt for something that fits together nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this product in December. Loved the grey tone of the stone. I thought it would look awesome with my vision of my bathroom reno. Unfortunately as all of the other reviews the stone turned brown when I applied the recommended sealer prior to grouting. I actually forgot to put the sealer on the alcove and the grout wiped off much easier but it also turned brown.

I wonder if some of you could share photos I'm wondering what grout colour to use. White seems to wash out some of the rocks. Also is it easy to maintain. What sealer did you use before and after grout? Thanks

Hello, we used Custom Building Products # 382 Bone and sealed with a penetrating sealer. We recommend using a PH neutral cleaner and re seal according to sealer MFG's guidelines.

the description states quite clearly more than once that this is for wall only. What warranty is there when people are being told by home depot staff to use it for a shower pan

Hello, Carrara River Rocks is suitable for use on shower pans. The mosaic will need to be sealed with a penetrating sealer before and after grouting. JCI offers a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects.

We have installed but not grouted yet. They are installed as an accent strip down the centre of one shower wall from ceiling to floor. If we seal these before grouting will it prevent the stones from turning yellow when wet?

We recommend sealing prior to grouting as the sealer will keep the stones from darkening. Please note the Travertine River Rock medley is made up of Light travertine (cream color) Noce Travertine(warm brown) and Emperador Marble (dark brown).

I  have installed Carrara River Rocks  mosaic tile on the floor of a shower, it is applied on a Schulter shower base  the tiles were sealed after the grout  there is water staining   on the tiles in 2 area, what is causing this and how to you fix it
