Rated 1 out of 5 by from sorry to say this, but after being very excited by this purchase, 3 things blew it for me, once I... sorry to say this, but after being very excited by this purchase, 3 things blew it for me, once I got it. first; when I plugged it in, it sounded like a rock tumbler kit I had as a kid. I've never heard ANY meat slicer sound like this one did. I quickly unplugged it, thinking something was wrong, but careful inspection showed everything looked fine. tried it again, same noise, same volume. I even let it run for a bit, to see if it would 'shake it off', so to speak. it did not. second; the blade did not seem to be spinning very fast, again not like any other slicer I've ever seen. the third thing is why I gave it only one star at the end. the instructions suggest you wipe off the unit AND BLADE with a dry, soft cloth or paper towel, that only rarely do you need to remove the blade itself for deeper cleaning. don't use soap or water. seriously. it said that. cross-contamination, anyone? I shudder to think what someone might unleash on their family or friends if they didn't know any better. I contacted a very reputable food chain in my town, and a well known meat market. they both explained, VERY carefully, how THEY take apart and thoroughly clean and sanitize their slicers, EVERY time they use them! i'm taking mine back tomorrow. I really wanted this one to be a win, but it wasn't.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not too bad slicer slicer works good, the biggest issue is when I unpacked it nothing was put together properly so it was not ready to use, almost took it back, it must not been checked at the factory for proper operation, so I had to reassemble the slicer so it would work
