The P4010LDCS-WCA is a 10-year, sealed battery smoke alarm that features wireless interconnect capability, enhanced intelligibility for users and an LED safety light that illuminates when the alarm sounds to help guide your way to safety. The voice warning feature accompanies the 85dB tone during an alarm event, and helps reduce confusion with verbal announcements such as "Replace Alarm" at end of alarm life, and "Hush mode activated" when a nuisance alarm is silenced. The three color LED ring helps users quickly determine standby, alarm, or error mode of the alarm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fire alarm Our previous fire alarm was too sensitive and was often activated whenever food was taken out of the oven, very annoying. This one has been great! I actually questioned whether it worked but than it did activate one time when we almost burned food so it is just much less sensitive and more accurate.

I read these interconnected wireless smoke detectors connect within 30 metres. Would they work in a 3 story house with a smoke detector on each level? How do these interconnected detectors connect? Do you need a special device or internet connection?

I don’t know whether your 3-storey house includes a basement. I have one in the basement and one on the second floor of a 2 storey house and they work, so you are okay per my experience if no basement. The 30 metres presumably includes normal interior structure, and your separation even with basement would be under 10 metres. They connect to each other entirely by their own resources, with no router or Internet connection. Before installing them, put them on a table together and push a button on each one. I have 5 of them, and everything started working after 5 button pushes.

I want to interconnect 8 smoke detectors. Does one have to be hardwired?

If the building is already equipped with hardwired alarms, all units already hardwired MUST be repalced with ahrdwired units pe the building and fire codes. If the building is getting renovated or is new, then not only do they all need to be hardwired, but strobe lights must also be hooked up (SLED177i). Otherwise, older homes (prior to 1984) can use battery operated units.

Hi there Looking to purchase a set of wireless interconnected smoke & carbon detectors. I need 8 for my home. Does this set require a "HUB" like Wink? Is this the best type for my needs? Any info would be appreciated.

These alarms do not interconnect to Wink or any other devices than this branch of wireless Kidde alarms. Wifi is not permîted for alarms in the building code.

Hi again, do I need a relay module for 8, possibly 9 units (1 for my garage too). Please let me know.

No relay exists for wireless alarms. They can be linked up to 18 initiating devices. They can operate up to 30 metres indoor from one another. DO NOT EVER install alarms - both smokes and CO -in a garage. They will fail to alarm or go off too often. Only heat detectors can be installed in garages and they are hardwired only, requiring hardwired alarms inside the house to receive an alarm signal.
