Does this product (Kidde model 21026626 Smoke alarm) include the 3 batteries required?

Yes. All alarms must include mounting plates, screws/anchors, wiring harness and any replaceable batteries required to install and activate right out of the box.

In the overvoew it says wired but in the specification it says power source is battery. Can you confirm? I wanted to buy this this to replace my 3 existing hard wired smoke detector, so they are interconnected. Thanks

These are hardwired smoke alarms with a 9V battery back-up (during power failures you would not have a working alarm otherwise). All Kidde hardwired alarms use the same harness.

We need 4 units and the pack has only has 3. Is there another single unit that will be compatible to this 3 pack unit as I do not want to purchase 6 alarms?

All of our hardwired alarms use the same wiring harness and are compatible with one another. You can also visit the local store and pick them up individually in most cases.

With these alarms, hardwired, and battery backup, I am on a backup generator, can they be used without installing the battery?

No plug-in or hardwired alarm should be used on a back up generator as the "square" nature of the electric wave could prove too much for the alarms. As well, none of our battery back up alarms will work without a good enough battery as they will continuously warn of low battery. If this is for a cottage, you need to get battery only alarms and take them home for winter as leaving them in the cold will damage them.
